We slipped baggies of speed into our waistbands and took off for Delaware. It was pretty cool to be riding next to Jo and Nailz and people got the hell out of our way. Little kids waved to us and I waved back. Older people frowned at us, but it didn't matter.

About ten miles before the bridge into Delaware we got pulled over.

Jo and I looked at each other. We were told by the cops to get off the motorcycles and sit on the grass. Cops were looking at plates and, in general, just hassling the guys - patting them down and looking for drugs and weapons.

"Don't act nervous. Just say yes sir and no sir," I whispered to Jo.

She whispered back, "I’m terrified. I’ll let you talk if we have to talk. Do you think your father would bail us both out?"

I smiled. "Of course he would, but we're good."

I saw the state police sending in more cops. None of the bikers had any drugs because Jo and I had them. But a few were getting angry about being held for two hours. I sat on the grass and watched other old ladies dump the contents of their purses out on the cop car hoods. I had nothing in my purse so I wasn't worried. The cops were acting like a bunch of pigs, though. I wasn't going to act any differently then I usually did and thought we'd be fine. Jo was just sitting quietly and I hoped she stayed that way.

As I waited, I saw my cousin, Richard Regan, who was a state police sergeant. I waved to him and he came right over.

"Kima! What are you doing with these guys and does your father know you're hanging with Bound for Hell?"

I smiled my sweetest smile. "Oh, Richie. How are you? I don't know why we're pulled over and of course my dad knows about my boyfriend. He does some work for him."

I dropped a wink and my cousin got the message really quick. I continued, "We did the speed limit and I think we’re just being pulled over because it’s Bound for Hell. My dad’s going to be mad when he finds out. Plus I really need to pee!"

Richie went over to talk to his men and came back to me. "Kima, We have nothing to hold these guys for and I’ll make sure you get to the restroom. Just be careful with these guys, okay? They can be real assholes to women. I have a card I want you to carry. It's a PBA card so, if any cop hassles you, show that to him."

I looked adoringly at my cousin. "Can my friend have one  too? You remember Jo Parker, I hope."

Jo smiled shyly. "Hi Richie. It’s been awhile. I used to have a big crush on you."

Richie was a ladies’ man and that made him smile. "Here’s is a card for you, too, Jo, and you shouldn't let my wild cousin get you involved with this bunch."

Jo actually batted her eyelashes at my cousin. "We're taking a year off before college and wanted to have some fun. It's such a beautiful day for a ride."

Richie wanted to meet my boyfriend. I told him, "Some cop has him. Veiko Finn is his name, Richie. Can you get him back for me please?"

Now my cousin winked at me. "Of course I can - but Kima you call me if any of these bikers hurt you or threaten you, promise?"

I laughed at him. "Oh Richie, you know me better than that. Do you think I’ll stick around them for long? It's just a stage I'm sure."

A cop brought V over and I introduced him to my cousin. Richie eyed Veiko up pretty hard but he didn't flinch under my cousin’s hard look.

"So, you’re my favorite baby cousin's new boyfriend?"

Veiko nodded.

Richie shook his hand. "Take good care of her. She’s a spoiled brat but we look out for our own in our family, got me?"

V smiled. "I hear she’s a wild child."

My cousin laughed so hard his fellow cops looked his way. "Wild child from the time she could walk. Just make sure she stays safe."

V looked my cousin in his eyes, "You have my promise, Sir. Are we free to leave?"

My cousin nodded. "I'll give you an escort to the rest stop. You won't get pulled over on the way back as long as it’s my shift and nobody’s drunk. We clear?"

V nodded and we got an escort to the rest stop and I got to pee. Jo and I were so glad Richie had showed up too.

Veiko now realized my family was all over the state. We might be drunks and crooks but we had lawyers and state police. In my family, blood counted, and we all had each others backs. My cousin most likely thought I was carrying money for my dad and I knew he wouldn't even call my dad to see. Hell, everyone knew Jack sold drugs and I recalled my cousin was wild back in the day too.

We pulled into Delaware's clubhouse.

As I got off the bike V smiled at me, "Your cousin seemed cool."

I wanted to get the speed off me. "He is. Now can you show Jo and me where we can get this shit off us please? I don't have any family here."

Nailz and V watched as Jo and I pushed the baggies out of the waistband of our jeans.

Nailz commented, "Shit, I never would have thought of that. Who was the cop flirting with Jo?"

I just got Bound for Hell MC out of cop's issuing bullshit tickets and all Nailz could think of was Jo flirting? I wasn't amused.

"My cousin, Nailz. And we have a safe way home unless your guys get drunk or stoned. Take all your baggies."

I know I had an attitude but I learned a valuable lesson. If you don't do drugs, don't carry them for anyone else.

V took my hand, "Babe, I'm sorry, but I warned you we might get pulled over."

I was clear as a bell as I replied, "Do not ever,
ever
ask me or Jo to carry that amount of drugs again. We got lucky this time. Now make sure your guys stay straight because my cousin is gonna be watching and he could get in trouble."

I walked away from V because I was so angry.

We didn't stay long in Delaware and everybody stayed straight. That was the night I went to bed mad as hell. I slept with my back toward V and that was a first.

CHAPTER 22

~

It was a beautiful day for the Seafood Festival in Ocean Cove. I loved seafood and so did V. Plus he promised today was going to be for just us. I'd been to other seafood festivals but not the one at Ocean Cove. Jo was going with Nailz and many guys from the club were planning to make a day out of it. There was always the chance of other clubs riding in too, so V warned me to be on the watch for them.

Riding up by the shoreline on a motorcycle is a thrilling experience. It's one of my favorite rides because I love seeing the waves and the Atlantic Ocean is such a stormy blue color. Sea gulls are my favorite birds.

Thorn, Elena, and Hunter also were riding with us and we'd meet everyone else at the clubhouse. We'd have to park there and walk a few blocks over. I was ready to indulge myself with seafood.

Since it was so warm, I changed at the clubhouse into hot pants and a tube top while Jo wore a flowing sundress. I think our men were impressed with the way we looked. V was a jealous man and I momentarily wondered if I should’ve dressed like Jo.

I was excited to have a day with Veiko. There were venders selling all sorts of stuff. Of course there would be a battle of the bands and all the local musicians who wanted to win would be playing their best songs. We paid our admission and walked around, checking everything out.

Jo and I were like two little kids in a candy shop. She was getting Nailz to buy her sliver bracelets and whatever else she set her heart on. I just wanted to eat. V was talking and I moved away when I saw his head nod. Club business, my cue to move away.

I walked over to stare at the water. The waves were high and there were surfers out with their boards.

I leaned on the railing and just stayed there, tapping my toes, waiting on V as usual. Finally I turned to glare at him but he didn't notice. I was tired of the club always coming first. I knew it would, when I became an old lady and being the Vice President's old lady only made it harder. V was acting like the President since Flop was never there. So anybody with a gripe was in his face, bitching.

This day, though, was supposed to be for us. I was hungry and wanted my clams. Keeping an eye on Veiko I joined a line for clams on the half shell. I got my dozen and moved back to the railing, eating them. I didn’t like being ignored. He still was talking and I was beginning to wish Jo and I had come up alone. Jo had deserted me, too, but at least her old man was paying her attention.

I got one clam in my mouth that tasted a bit funny but I swallowed it anyway. Who knew if I'd get more to eat since V was too busy for me. I needed a drink and made my way over to the beer truck. I bought a large plastic mug; I could’ve gotten V one but right now I was disgusted with him. Let him get his own.

The beer was cold and tasted wonderful. I looked at V. He didn't have a beer and was still talking, forgetting I was even with him it seemed.

Oh fuck this!

I didn't come to be ignored. I’d go look for Jo and Nailz or Hunter and Elena. I came to have a good time and I was going to enjoy myself. I tried to reason with myself that Veiko was doing what he had to do, but where did I fit in ? He didn't seem to care that he abandoned me. Not liking my old man today, I got my mug refilled and wandered around.

I saw a few guys from the club and said hi. They greeted me back, politely, not finding it odd I was alone. That it was fine; V could bitch at me later.

I hit every seafood stand that looked interesting and stuffed myself with my favorite foods. I’d made it to the end of the boardwalk and was turning to make my way back when I heard the roar of bikes pulling into a lot across the street.

Shit and damn! I checked their colors and saw it was Nefarious MC.

I began to walk faster but the heat and beer slowed me down. I didn't know a thing about Nefarious MC and hoped I'd be lost in the crowd before they were on the boardwalk.

Damn Veiko! Why couldn't he just pay attention to me and put me first? The days of me being sweet were coming to an end. Now I knew why some old ladies fooled around on their men or just got sick of the club and left.

I was beginning to think it was time for me to lay it out for V, we needed a talk about this relationship. I watched my mother be unhappy and swore I'd never be her. Hell, I was almost living her life! Screw this!

I managed to get into the crowd but one guy from Nefarious MC had spotted me. "Hey, Blondie! Wait up! I know you from somewhere!"

I walked faster and ignored the biker. I didn't see any Bound for Hell members. I felt his hand grab my shoulder and spin me around.

Oh my Lord. It was one of my best tippers from the bar Wiggles. I never knew he was in an MC. He was a hot guy, too - long black, wavy hair, brown almost black colored eyes, and a hot body. We'd talked a few times when I'd danced but I never took his offer for a date. I thought he was a business man of sorts because how he always dressed. He liked to look neat and dressed in black jeans and was always spotless. I never thought he was a biker, and he gave huge tips!

He smiled at me, "Brandy! It
is
you, isn't it?"

I was very uncomfortable and answered "My name isn't Brandy, sorry."

He looked at my butterfly tattoo and grinned, "Of course not, that's your stage name."

I didn't want trouble and I liked this guy, but if V saw me there would be a fight. I moved back a bit. "I'm sorry but I keep work and my personal life apart and my boyfriend is here. I need to find him or I'll be in trouble."

This biker was so carefree and trying be nice.

"Name is Darko and screw your boyfriend. He ought to pay attention to you. Let me refill that mug."

He snagged it out of my hand and pulled me toward a keg. I tried again. "This is a really bad idea, Darko. My boyfriend isn't just anyone. Look, I don't want trouble, but I'm Veiko's old lady."

He handed me the mug. "That's too bad, I know V. Enjoy the beer."

All of a sudden I felt my hair being pulled and I was up against Veiko's chest. "Kima, what the fuck?"

I felt tears falling from my eyes - it hurt like hell.

Darko looked pissed. "V, she didn't do anything. I know her from stopping in at Wiggles. She told me she was your old lady - I just got her a beer."

V looked down at me. "I warned you, Kima. Don't
EVER
try to make me jealous!"

I couldn't get away. He had me by the hair, something I hated. I reached down and grabbed his balls, squeezing hard.

"Veiko, let me go! I'm done with you and your fucking bullshit! I was left to stand like a fool while everyone else was having fun and I didn't do a thing wrong. We're done,
FUCK YOU!
"

Veiko still had my hair so I dug in with my finger nails as hard as I could. Darko and a few members from Nefarious were staring at us. Now members of Bound for Hell were coming up. I saw one punch a guy from Nefarious MC in the face and a fight broke out.
