DAY FOUR:

THURSDAY NIGHT

KITTEN’S NIGHT

I
paused briefly from pacing the hardwood floors of the cabin kitchen to down my
beer. I was torn. It had only been a half hour since my class, I could still
taste Colt in my mouth, and I still didn’t know how I was going to tell Sara. I
heard the turn of the doorknob to the cabin door and Sara stepped through the
doorway with her hands full of grocery bags from the camp store.

“I went shopping,” Sara said in
her usual bubbly manner. A part of me wanted to say something just to piss her
off. It would make things so much easier if she were mad at me. I swallowed
down my anxiety and it helped free up some of the psychological weight on my
shoulders.

“Did you walk from the store
with all of these bags?”

“No. I took the golf cart,” Sara
replied, handing me a bundle of bananas.
God, I wanted to die. Bananas…damn
you Colt. How do I tell her?

“We can use the golf carts?”

Sara chuckled. “You’d know that
if you’d read the manual,” Sara narrowed her eyes at me. I hated when she did
that. I knew what question was going to follow. “What’s wrong? You look
stressed.” My eyes widened. I opened my mouth to tell her and then shut it
immediately. I tried again but nothing came out.
How do I tell my best
friend that I just sucked off her boyfriend who is the love of her life? No
matter how much I enjoyed it, in that moment, I now felt terrible.

“Are you feeling okay? Honey,
you look pale. You weren’t at lunch today. I bought some protein bars. You
should go into A’s Market sometime. That place would put our grocery store back
home to shame.” I mind-numbingly took the protein bar that she held out for me
but I didn’t open it.

“Maybe you’d rather have a
banana?” Sara offered.
Lightning, strike me now.
I shook my head. “Do
you want to go to Kitten Night with me? We can drink lots of beer and forget
about the guys for a night?” Sara asked. I answered with the only word I could
spit out.

“Sure.” I helped Sara put the
rest of the groceries away as I wrestled internally to tell her.
Okay, calm
down girl…I don’t have to tell her right at this moment. It’s been a hard
day...oh boy…even in my head I knew that sounded bad…But I would tell her
tonight…yea for sure…I would tell her tonight when the time was right…after I
got a few beers in her to soften the blow. After all, what’s the worst that
could happen? Yea, that’s a good plan…tell her tonight. Kitten night meant that
she wouldn’t be seeing Colt. That’s good. At least I had a few hours until I
absolutely had to tell her. I could do this. I had to...probably have a couple
beers myself first.

The time really seemed to fly by
fast now that Sara and I arrived at one of the four campfires burning high
behind the Main Lodge. I glanced up at the balcony to the large gathering of
Cubs and Instructors. By the looks of it and the noise level, Thursday night
Cub cocktail hour with Avery started early and was going well. I could hear
their laughter echoing off the back courtyard as Sara and I made our way
through the torch lit path to the Kitten campfire where Sienna and Maya greeted
us.

It was a dark night and the Main
Lodge was coated in shadows except for the golden glow of torches and dim
landscape lighting. I had tried to tell Sara about what I did with Colt several
times on the way over here, but each time Sara seemed to endlessly ramble on
about every gorgeous guy she met today. But then I welcomed her ramblings so I
didn’t have to tell her the sad truth yet, even though deep down, I knew it was
only prolonging my agony.

I smiled at the group that had
gathered around our sundry orange fire and hoped that tonight I could forget
about everything, especially Colt and Avery.

After my rendezvous with Avery,
I had to lie to Sienna and Colt and say I got lost in the woods while I was
running and Avery found me while riding through. He brought me back to safety.
I made him out to be the hero. I could literally just have choked on those
words. He was no hero. He was heartless and an emotional tease. Sienna and Colt
seemed to buy it anyways.

The fire crackled intently,
filled with bright greens and blues as Sienna put another log on. So here we
were, just us Kittens and our female instructors, sitting around a campfire
behind the Main Lodge, telling stories about what else?…
Men.

I reached into the cooler and
pulled out a beer. I popped the cap off and chugged half of it. This was my
fifth beer since Sara came home and I was finally starting to relax as we all
took seats on horizontal logs that were graciously placed in geometric order
around each fire pit.

“Look everyone, I think Aria’s
getting bored,” Sara said. “Let’s play a game,” Sara urged.
Man, that
sounded sarcastic.
I tried not to roll my eyes at the implications and just
stared at the fire instead
.

“The game is called ‘Spill It’.”
Great, more games.
Then she continued. “It’s kinda a mixture of Truth or
Dare and Bullshit. For every round there is always a ‘Truth’ and for the first
round everyone has to tell a story about how they got revenge on someone from
their past who cheated on them. We’ve all had that happen to us at some point
in our lives, or tell us how you got back at the girl your boyfriend did it
with.”
What?
Then Sara went on. “If someone is suspected of embellishing
or holding back someone calls out ‘Spill It’ and as punishment, that person
caught telling the lie has to shotgun two beers and then afterwards spill their
guts.
Oh fuck! She knows. Could this possibly be a coincidence? She’s gonna
kick my ass for sure.

I kept looking around to see
where I could go…where I could hide. It must be a coincidence.
Yea, that’s
right. Just a coincidence.
She didn’t see Colt today.
It was Caitlyn.
I bet she told her. She’s been after me since the beginning just because Avery
talks to me and not her
. Goddamn her! If she told Sara, I will kick the
ever-living shit out of her! Okay, calm down, she doesn’t know. I’m just
freaking myself out. I swear to God, Caitlyn, I will rip your fake fucking
fingernails out, you fake blonde slut bitch! Take a deep breath, Aria. Nobody
knows. Nobody knows…except Sienna and everyone else at class. Ugh…I’m dead.
It’s my own damn fault. I give one blowjob at camp and now I’m dead and
buried…oh wait…I’m about to be buried.

“Sienna, you go first,” Sara
said, making sure that everyone agreed.

“My revenge on a guy that cheated
on me was with a guy I dated for five months. I had stopped by to pick up
takeout at our usual place in a small café in New York City when I saw him lip
locked with my best friend,” Sienna said. I gulped.

“We had plans to see each other
that night so I played it cool and went along with the date. We ordered in Chinese
that night and I made him drink until he was obliterated and passed out. Then,
while he was sleeping I had a friend
– I’m never saying who, so
don’t ask, give him a Prince Albert.”

The women all gasped in unison.
Sienna smiled deceptively as she stared into the fire. Her auburn hair glowed
even more with the flames dancing off them.

“Let’s just say when he woke up,
the pain lasted a lot longer than if I kicked him in the balls,” Sienna smiled
to us.

Tara covered her mouth with her
hand. “Jesus, that’s brutal,” she grimaced.

“What was even better, he
couldn’t have sex with my ex best friend for months,” Sienna added.
What the
fuck is a Prince Albert? Strike that, I don’t even want to know.
I didn’t
really want to ask so I sat still.

“I’ll go next,” Sara blurted. I
eyed her suspiciously.
Ugh.
I was getting more paranoid by the minute. I
shifted nervously but stared straight at the fire
.
I kept telling myself
Sara would have said something, wouldn’t she? I took another swig of my beer.
Damn, it was empty. I reached into the cooler and brought out another one.

Sara started. “Aria knows this
story. So she can call it if I don’t tell the truth.” I flinched as soon as she
said my name. I rolled backwards right off my log. I did my best not to spill
my beer but it was useless as my feet pointed at the sky my beer spilled out
all over my shirt.

“Aria. That’s not how you play
spill it,” Caitlyn chided condescendingly as everyone burst out laughing.

“Eat a full bag of shit,
Caitlyn,” I said very sweetly through my fake smile as my feet still pointed
upward towards the dark night. I slowly dug my hands in the soft earth and pushed
myself back onto my log.

“Be nice, ladies,” Sienna added.
Then Sara continued on.

“So there was this guy Jake that
I dated in my senior year of high school. We’d been dating about six months
when he started canceling our dates out of the blue. At first, I really
believed he was sick, like he said he was. Why wouldn’t I believe him? But
then, a guy friend of mine took a picture of him all over another girl at the
same party that we were supposed to go to together. He of course denied it was
him. The picture was kinda blurry but he swore up and down it wasn’t him. He
kept saying he loved me and blah, blah, blah. I was naïve back then and I forgave
him. Then he started blowing me off again and going to parties by himself. That
didn’t sit well with me. The night that I finally caught him, I had borrowed
Aria’s car so that he wouldn’t know I was there. I hid outside in the tall
grass across the street from his house and watched him arrive with this other
girl from our class. My plan was to wait until he went inside but they never
made it.” Sara looked at me and smirked. “They started going at it before they
made it to the porch and he pulled her right into the bushes,” Sara said
leaning forward.
This wasn’t the story I knew.
“She sunk to her knees
and unzipped him. She pulled out his cock and started to suck him off.” My eyes
widened as Sara went on. “I watched as she got him off. He didn’t even pull out.
He shot it right in her mouth and she swallowed his entire load. She was a
natural.” I gulped, then coughed a bit and spit up some of my beer as I quickly
caught it in my hand. Everyone stared over at me until I finished hacking.

“You okay there, Aria?” Sienna
asked.

“Yea, I’m fine.” I said.

“I waited until he went inside then I grabbed my baseball bat. I went
back to his truck and put dents in every surface of it. I smashed out his
headlights, his mirrors. But I was still pissed off, so I jacked up the truck
on cement blocks and took all his tires. They were heavy as hell and I couldn’t
carry them, so I rolled them down the hill into some poor guy’s yard and then
put a ‘Free’ sign on them.”

“Is she lying, Aria?” Sienna
asked.

My head was spinning from all of
the beer. “Spill it,” I bleated very softly. “Everything was true except for
the blowjob part,” I said as a feeling of anxiety swept over me like high tide.

“Speaking of blowjobs,” Amber
said. “That was hot as hell today in class, Aria,” she added, looking at me.

I gulped and cringed at the same
time. I rose quickly and stepped in a circle unsure if I was leaving or heading
toward Sara. Then I gave in, stepped toward Sara, and looked down at the
ground. I couldn’t look her in the eye.

“Sara, I gave Colt a blowjob
today in class…and…” I stuttered. Then giggles started to break from the girls
sitting around us.

“Wait,” I said, pausing to look
at Sara. I studied her face for a minute. She didn’t look angry; she was
fighting back a grin. Sienna nudged her with her arm and winked at me. Then
everyone burst out laughing. “Holy shit. All this time you knew and you didn’t
say anything? You little bitch!”

Sara giggled and confirmed my
suspicion. Everyone was laughing so hard that we garnered stares from the other
campfires along the back lawn.

“Yes. And it was a blast
torturing you,” Sara said.

“Serves you right for not
telling her right away,” Caitlyn quipped.

“Thanks from the peanut
gallery,” I said to Caitlyn as she scrunched her face back at me.

“What does peanuts have to do
with this?” she sneered.

Everyone snickered then I turned
my attention back to Sara as she continued on, “We’ve spent two hours together
and you still didn’t have the guts to tell me. I gave you every opportunity
when we were unloading the groceries. I kept handing you the bananas and you
never said a word.”

“Oh man, I was wondering if
that’s what you were doing,” I stood gaping at my best friend. Laughter spilled
out of me joining in the chorus with the others.

“I stopped by Colt’s before I
went to the Market. He didn’t let me get in the door before he took me,” Sara
said. “The whole time he bragged about how you gave him the hottest blowjob
he’s ever had. And he wants
you
to show me how
you
do that thing
with your tongue and the roof of your mouth and coming from Colt, that’s saying
something. I’m a little jealous. Colt can last a long time and you made him cum
in two minutes. Not to mention he doesn’t cum in anyone’s mouth, except mine.
So, sexy little Kitten, want to tell me where you learned that little technique
from?” I smiled sardonically and shook my head. “Suit yourself. I’m sure he’s
up on that balcony describing in full detail what sweet little Aria did in
class today and I can assure you the more people you teach that to, the better.”

“You’re such a bitch,” I
playfully bantered.

“Whore,” Sara grinned wickedly.

“Yea, whore!” Caitlyn blurted
out.

“Caitlyn! How bout we take it
easy there, sister,” Sienna countered.

“Oh, sorry. I just thought that
was the thing to do,” Caitlyn responded as she rolled her eyes in sarcastic
apology.
