I woke up in the hospital the next morning. The pain in my chest was unbearable. Before I realized where I was, a hand reached out and rubbed my forehead. I turned and saw Gavin sitting there with relief written all over his face. I smiled at him, which quickly led to a wince of pain.

Gavin reached over and pressed the little morphine button, to help relieve my pain, before he said. “I’m so happy you’re ok. I was worried sick. I love you and will always be here for you.”

Chapter 10

*Gavin*

I woke up hearing Rebecca curse at the nurse
for waking her up.

“I just fucking fell asleep, why do you have to harass me even at 3 in the fucking morning?”

The nurse responded kindly, “Hunny, I’m just trying to increase your morphine, you go in for surgery in a few hours, and Dr Ripley ordered it increased prior to your pre-op.”

She
grabbed for my hand and smiled at me as the nurse finished increasing her meds. She turned away from me and asked the nurse a question.

“How long will I be in surgery?” The nurse shook her head and said. “I’m sure honey, all I know is the Dr will be  in here in the next hour to talk to you.”

Rebecca smiled at the nurse before thanking her, and turned back to me.

“Have you been here this whole time?”

I smiled at her, and answered. “Yes I have. The nurses told me I should push your morphine button every thirty minutes even if you’re sleeping. So I set my alarm for every thirty minutes after I push it.”

Rebecca smiled at me and squeezed my hand tightly. She reached up and grabbed at her chest wound. The nurse quickly shut the IV pump, and pushed the button. Rebecca was about to say
something but was cut off by the influx of morphine in her system. Her eyes slowly shut until she went into a deep drug induced sleep again.

I looked at the nurse and asked, “Is the recovery from this surgery going to be bad? How long do you think she will need to be in the hospital?” The nurse smiled, walked over to me, put her hand on my shoulder and said. “She should be out of the hospital in a few days.Don’t worry Honey she is in good hands.” I smiled at her, shook my head in agreement and rubbed her hand before I leaned back in the chair. My alarm sounded just as I was closing my eyes. I quickly shut it off and rest it for thirty minutes from now. I closed my eyes and
drifted off, only to be woken up by the Dr and the pre-op team coming to get Rebecca ready.

Rebecca quickly recovered from her surgery. We were able to have some time to get to know each other, while she recovered.

*A week later. Blairesville GA Rebecca’s cabin*

Every morning we woke up we made love. Rebecca was really sore from her injuries, and surgeries, but loved just laying in bed with me. I was more than happy to oblige. This morning was no different.

After I brought Rebecca some breakfast we curled up and watched Netflix. Goodfellas was a great movie, we laughed through the majority of it.

After I got up and turned off the Blue-ray player, I quickly ran back to the bed. Rebecca rolled over and kissed me deeply. Her lips lightly moved over mine. I pulled back and softly pulled her blue silk nighty off, exposing her glorious full breasts. I leaned down and teasingly took one of her light pink nipples into my mouth. Rebecca leaned her head back in passion. She quickly recovered as I pulled off her nipple and started pulling my boxers off. I softly secured myself between her legs, trying not to jostle her too much. Rebecca reached her
hand down between her legs and grabbed my hard, throbbing cock. She jerked it for a second as I conquered her mouth, and lead it to her wet opening. I glided smoothly in, as we were both lost in  the throes of love making. I moaned out, “
Oh my god Rebecca, I love you, I never want to be without you again.”

I couldn’t hold it in any longer and thrust myself into her harder, just before I spilled my seed deep inside of her. Rebecca laid her head back let out a moan, and smiled, as she tried to catch her breath. We laid in silence for a few minutes before Rebecca said, “I love you, I wish we could stay here in this bed forever.”

I smiled and quickly said, “I love you too, and I would like nothing more than to stay right here.”

Before we knew it, her time off was up. Rebecca thought she was healed up enough to get back to work, and I needed to get back to the MC.

Rebecca*

I picked up my cell and realized I missed a call from Gavin, when I was in my debriefing meeting. There were three text messages and two voicemails. I wanted to hear Gavin’s sexy voice so I decided to listen to them first.

“Rebecca, you haven’t called me today. How are you feeling? Just checking in on you Darling and seeing when we’ll get together again. Love ya. Call me when you get this.”

I smiled when I heard his Love ya. I scrolled through my text messages as I walked into my office, I had a notepad with messages from my secretary on my desk. Pushing them to the side I finished reading Gavin’s sweet texts. Just as I was picking up my notepad, the fluorescent lighting in my office started to whirr, as if being in this building couldn’t be any more annoying. I went back to the task at hand and started reading who called when I was out.

Sick call wants you to come in at 1:15pm to get your cast taken off. Followed by the surgeon on duty, wanting to check the plate in your eye socket.

Agent Marcus Marshal wants to see you when you get done with your Dr’s appointments.

And above all Rebecca, make sure you have a great day!

I’m happy to have you back!

I looked at the clock on the wall and realized I’d have to call Gavin after I get my Dr’s appointments over with.
I rushed out my door, patted Laurie on the back and smiled at her as I rushed down the hall. Looking at my cell phone, I only had two minutes to get to the next building.

Rushing past Agent Mia’s door she yelled my name, I turned and said, “I can’t stop I have to meet my Dr’s in two minutes.” She smiled and
responded, “Call me, we need to get together for drinks this weekend.” I nodded and turned the corner to the elevators. Pressed the button and rushed in before the doors could fully open. Of course, my journey to the clinic couldn’t be uneventful, Slate had to be in the elevator going to the clinic also. I faced the door and tried to ignore his very existence in the same elevator. Until I heard him clear his throat.

“Are you really just going to pretend I don’t exist? Look what you did to my pretty face!” He said with a chuckle.

I laughed, looked at him and replied. “I think it’s an improvement.”

Slate chuckled and said. “Ha, Ha Rebecca. I’m sorry I called you a biker whore. I was still sore from our breakup, and you know Marshall hasn’t trusted me on assignment since the Birmingham incident.”

I smiled the nicest smile I could muster towards him, as I said. “That’s not an excuse for being an Asshat. As far as I’m concerned we’re just co-workers. Other than the occasional Hi in passing, there is no need for us to talk, or take trips down memory lane. And as far as Birmingham– that’s what happens when you get innocent people caught in the crossfire.”

He nodded his head and replied. “Okay, co-workers it is. But we were all really worried about you when you were in the hospital. I’m glad you’re ok, and hope you get to unwind a little before Marshall throws you out there again.”

I turned back to face the door as our floor was coming up. But before the doors could open I answered him. “I’ll be ok, and as far as Marshall is concerned, I have a meeting with him after my appointment. So that whole unwinding might not happen.”

The elevator jolted to a stop, and the doors pinged open. I walked through first, and quickly stepped through the glass double doors to the cat walk. I looked at my cell before I put it back in my pocket and realized
I was late! I picked up my pace and rushed through the clinic door.

The p
erky nurse stood up from behind the counter and welcomed me.

“Good afternoon Agent Quinn, you’re healing great! The Dr will be with you in room three if you want to just take a seat.”

She pointed to the room, then went back to pulling her long dirty blonde hair up into a messy bun. I smiled and thanked her as I walked into the exam room. The rooms always smelled like antiseptic, and medical tape. I looked down at my cast and couldn’t be happier to be rid of it. I reached my good hand up to my eye socked and felt the stitches, and hoped I didn’t look as bad as it felt. The pain meds kept my pain at bay, when I took them. But I hated the icky feeling I get when I take the prescribed four a day.

Just as I winced the Dr walked in, and said. “Now you know better than to play with it Agent Quinn. If it gets infected you’ll wish you didn’t touch it.”

He said as I got caught red handed. He pulled his latex gloves on and moved towards me on the exam table.

“Please call me Rebecca. You saved my life; I think that puts us on a first name basis.” I said with a smirk.

Dr. Winston
smiled as he responded. “You can call me Harry Agent Qui….Rebecca.”

I laughed and said. “I think I can get used to being called Agent Rebecca.”

Harry busied himself carefully applying the antiseptic to the new bandages. After walking the last two steps to the exam table he slowly removed my bloody bandage.

“If you’ve been following my instructions, this shouldn’t hurt at all.” He said as he pulled the bandage from my stitches.

I flinched, when the bandage stuck to the last stitch. Harry made a tsk, tsk, tsk sound as he looked at the wound. He made a quick whistling sound as he said.

“Your stitches aren’t ready yet. And I don’t like the look of the swelling against the titanium plate. I’m going to prescribe you a new antibiotic, and more pain medicine. You haven’t been taking your pain meds have you?”

I cleared my throat and responded. “They make me feel icky, and I can’t concentrate to do my job.”

He sat down, looked at me and said. “I prescribed the meds to you, because it helps with the swelling, and I know this is very painful. In fact I told Agent Marshal that you had to go on con-leave for at least a month. You ALMOST Died! But I guess he doesn’t listen to a lowly Bureau Dr.”

I looked away guiltily for a minute before I said. “Actually I wanted to come back. Agent Marshal told me to take some time off, but I had to finish my
mission, and hopefully get another one soon. But I’ll make sure to take my meds as prescribed. How long until you clear me for more field work?”

He looked at me, nodded his head, removed his gloves and said. “I’ll clear you after I take out the
stitches in three days. But you need to stay on your medicine until you run out of both pain killers and your antibiotic. You’re lucky I like you, or I would send you straight home for bed rest.”

I smiled, and said. “Thank you Harry!”

He nodded, stood back up and pressed the clean bandage against my stitches.

“I’ll see you on Friday Rebecca, stay out of trouble. And make sure you take your medicine!”  He said as he was walking out of the exam room.

I felt my phone vibrating my pocket. Reaching into my pocket I smiled when I noticed it was Gavin calling.

I answered– “
Hey babe, sorry I was in the Dr’s office, didn’t get a chance to call or answer until just now.”

I heard him exhale loudly before he said.
“You had me worried. It feels like an eternity since I’ve seen you. I just wanted to let you know, I won’t be around until next week, the club has to take care of something. But as soon as I finish up, I’ll come up and spend a week with you.”

I smiled, and said.
“I had to come back to clear your name. I couldn’t have you on the radar when it wasn’t you.

No worries, get your work done. I have a meeting in Agent Marshal’s office anyway, I think he’s sending me on another mission, so we might have to postpone our week
up in Blairsville until after. I’m running late for my meeting so I’ll have to call you back. Love you.”

Gavin quickly said.
“Wait! You can’t take another mission yet. But if you do make sure to text me the details so that I don’t worry. I love you! Stay safe my love! I don’t know what I would do without you Darling. If you need me, leave me a voicemail, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
He said as he hung up.

The moment the phone clicked off, I got a text message from Gavin that said,
Love you, be careful my Darling!

I rushed to
the elevator and pressed the down button. I quickly texted Gavin back as I waited for the elevator doors to open.

I love you, take care babes!

The door popped open and I rushed in as I shoved my phone down into my pocket. Not paying attention to who was in the elevator with me I finally looked up when I heard a man clear his throat. My eyes grew wide when I saw the man was Agent Marshal.
