“Love you babe.” He whispered as he raised her hand to his mouth and kissed it. “You always did give the best damn blow in the business.” He laughed as she poked him in the chest with her index finger. He glanced at his watch; it was almost time for Sam to go back to the hospital. “Sam, we have to give her a name babe.” She agreed but somehow, with everything that happened choosing a name never entered her mind.

“She’
s so tiny, so vulnerable.” She said. As he looked at her, the same look had returned that he had in the scan room. He was terribly worried too.

“She’
s my girl, she

s a fighter!” Sam sat up and looked at him. He would be a good father. “Babe, I

m going to be doing an interview with a local music station tomorrow, I

m gonna tell the world about her, so do you think we can give my princess a name?” He said. Sam laughed.

As she put back on her coat, Lisa and Nick arrived. Jay greeted him with an embrace. Lisa hung back. Nick looked over at Sam. She looked good but somewhat tired. He went to her and she smiled nervously, every time they met lately there was hostility between them. He went to shake her hand, under the watchful eye of Jay. She smiled at him breaking the ice. Jay said he would cook when he returned from dropping Sam back to the hospital. Nick looked at both of them and said:

“You want me to drop Sam off? Or do you both want to be there?” Jay smiled. “If it’
s ok, sweetie, I

d love to see the little one?” Nick said as he looked at Sam. She nodded. Perhaps they could clear the air once and for all.

Jay walked her to the car and kissed her passionately. Lisa was watching them from the doorway.

“Give her a kiss from me, see you in a while babe.” He held open the door for her and he and Nick slapped each other on the arm. Nick sped away.

As he walked back up to the cottage, Lisa smiled at him and said:

“Want me to help you cook?” He laughed and put his arm around her and said:

“How ‘bout a coffee? I will cook if you brew a decent cup”. His touch sent a shiver down her spine.

She opened the press, and said:

“All Sam has is instant!” He nodded and began to prepare his famous sauce. She put the coffee into the cups and stirred in the milk into her own. Poured the boiling water into the mugs and went over to him. Deliberately standing close to him she held out her mug to his and they hit their mugs together.

“You look pretty good, how are you feeling Jay?”  Lisa asked him. He sipped the coffee and made a face. She giggled. She could use a glass of wine.

“Wish I had been here sooner. Thanks for being with her.” He said. “I don’
t know if she fully forgives me for not being here.” Lisa touched his arm lightly. He was a damn fine looking man. She could feel the muscle in his arm through his shirt.

“She’
d be stupid not to. You

ve been through hell, Jay. Partly due to her,” she looked into his eyes. She wanted to kiss him. “You

ve been a gentleman through this considering,” she went over to the kitchen table and took off her coat. She was wearing a short skirt and a very low cut top with black stockings and high heels. She knew she looked hot. As she glanced back at Jay, she smiled to herself as she saw the look on his face. Nick was good in bed but she couldn’t get this craving for Jay out of her system.

She walked back over to the counter and picked up a chili and began to wash it, in a rather seductive way.  Jay laughed and said sarcastically.

“I hope you plan to deliver on that chilli!” She laughed. She was shamelessly flirting with him. “Nick’
s a lucky guy!” He winked at her. She laughed and licked her lips seductively as she took another sip from her coffee.

“You got any wine in here Hon?” She asked. Jay went over to the fridge and opened it. He took out a bottle of Californian white and handed it to her. She opened it and poured two glasses handing one of them to him. Jay laughed and said:

“Darlin, six weeks in rehab wasted if I have a glass of wine.” In her mind she swore. She had forgotten he’
d been to rehab for drink and drug addiction.

“Your health!” she raised a glass, he mirrored with the coffee mug. She cut the chilli pepper and was trying to recover from that tiny set back.

As Jay put the pan on the stove, he turned to her and asked suddenly.

“Lisa, is everything alright with you and Nick?” She looked at him. If Nick would make her his girlfriend perhaps she wouldn’
t be feeling so bitter with how damn lucky Sam had gotten.

“As alright as it can be with Nick,” she said bitterly. Jay chopped some mushrooms. He looked at the clock. Lisa could tell from his expression he was thinking about his premature baby daughter. He looked so vulnerable. Lisa went over to him and touched his face softly with the back of her hand.

“She’
s going to make it!” She smiled and looked longingly into his eyes. He reached up and took her hand in his.
“She’
s so beautiful, just like Sam.” He smiled. “I love them both so much, I

m a lucky fuckin guy.” He kissed her hand and as he let her hand go, she took his face in both her hands and kissed him deeply on the mouth. She searched for his tongue and he responded with the same urgency as her. He put his arms around her and pulled her closer to him, his tongue probing hers. Her arms went around him and he pushed her against the wall as his hand went to her breast he kissed her hard. His other hand slipped under her skirt. She moaned as he slipped his fingers inside her.  He moved himself hard against her, she opened his zip and slid her hand inside his pants, and he was so big and hard. Jay pressed harder against her; she put her leg around his waist as he kissed her. He tore against her tee shirt as he took it off her and she stood before him semi naked. Jay kissed her breasts and unbuttoned her bra, exposing them. She pulled his head down on her and moaned as he sucked on her breasts. He was so damn hot. She craved to have him inside her. As if sensing what she was thinking he felt for her tanga brief and ripped it off her. She audibly caught her breath as she felt her knickers ripped off her and her silken hair exposed to him as he slipped three of his fingers inside her again.

Lisa wanted to have him inside her as she pulled off his trousers and felt him hard and erect. He moaned as she began to pull him off. He dropped to his knees and began to enter her with his tongue. She cried his name with pleasure as his tongue slipped inside her.

The phone rang. Jay stopped, looked into the lounge and stood up. Quickly he pulled up his pants and ran to grab the phone. It was Sam.

“Hey babe!” He tried to sound normal. She didn’
t notice that he was out of breath. “How is my princess?” Sam sounded so close yet so far away.

“Jay, she’
s getting strong, just like you said.” He could hear the emotion in her voice. “What do you think of the name Opal?” He laughed. She sounded desperate.

“Babe, she is perfect, like a diamond, or an Emerald!” He put his hand up to his forehead as he thought of what nearly happened.

“I’
ll be home in half an hour. I love you James.” This stung him. He had nearly fucked Lisa, with his daughter fighting for her life and his fiancée in hospital with her. He was a scum bag.

Jay went into the kitchen, he looked at Lisa. She came over to him and was about to put her arms around him when he pulled her off him and said:

“Lisa, whatever nearly happened didn’
t happen.” She stared at him. “I love Sam and my daughter. They are the world to me.” She couldn’t believe this. She nearly had him and now he was chickening out.

“Bloody hell Jay, you can’
t deny what was happening between us?” He walked over to the stove and automatically stirred the pot. She went over to him and turned him around to her.

“You can’
t deny, you wanted me just now,” she hissed at him. Jay looked at her and said:

“Lisa, I haven’
t had sex in months. I

m horny, you made yourself available. I would do you in a New York minute if I wasn

t with Sam and you weren’t with Nick.” He pulled her into his arms and hugged her. “Darlin, you are a very sexy woman. It would be great to fuck you but I intend to marry Sam. She

s the mother of my daughter and I love her. Lisa if I weren’t with Sam; I would fuck you hard and give you all that you want.” She slapped his face hard.  She wanted Jay. She craved him and she wasn

t about to give up now. Lisa didn

t care that he was in love with Sam. She didn

t care that his daughter was fighting for life. She knew she had turned him on and she knew if the phone hadn

t rung he would be making love to her now.

“We’
ll see, won

t we Jay.” They both knew that they didn

t want either Sam or Nick to know about this incident.

In the car on the drive home from the hospital, Nick looked across at Sam. She was a beautiful woman. He could see what Jay saw in her. Sam was gazing out the window at the twilight and the shadow of the trees as they whizzed past. Nick spoke:

“Your daughter is beautiful.” He looked at her. “She’
s so like Jay!” Sam smiled. She was very like him. She had his deep blue eyes. And her hair was dark like Jay

s.

“Sam, I’
ve been a total bastard to you.” He changed gear. “I didn

t want him getting hurt. He went through hell after that guy phoned him. I guess I blamed you in the wrong.” Sam looked at him. He was a good looking guy, but so full of himself.

“Nick, you’
ve been a prick to me since we met. I would never hurt Jay,” she turned back to the window of the car. “I love him so very much.” Nick reached for her hand. She allowed him to take it.

“That little girl is gonna save him. On the plane over here, all he could talk about was how he was gonna make it better with you and the baby.” Nick squeezed her hand. “Sam, he adores both of you. I’
m sorry I treated you so badly. Forgive me?” He seemed genuine. They both had the same thing in common; they both cared deeply for Jay.

“Of course I forgive you.” She moved closer to him and kissed him on the cheek. He laughed and said fondly.

“That doesn’
t mean I

ll have sex with you!” She laughed and said:

“I wouldn’
t have sex with you either!” They both laughed. They had finally resolved their differences.
