I do as he says, reaching behind me, feeling the cold air on my exposed sex, imagining how I must look to him, holding myself open, displaying myself for him, the straps of my garters digging into my flesh.

“I should take a photo so you can see how sexy you look. Wanton. Desperate. Tell me how much you want this.”

My whole body clenches at the sound of his words, the dark promise there. It’s like he can read my mind, like he knows exactly what to say to push me closer to the edge.

“I want this.”

“How much?”

“More than you can know,” I admit truthfully.

I flinch when I feel Sebastian’s warm tongue sliding along my cleft, lingering over my most forbidden entrance. The sensation is amazing, strange and new and oh so erotic. One finger continues to leisurely fuck my pussy as his tongue teases my tightly clenched opening, coaxing me to relax. My knees quiver. My pulse quickens as he laps and probes until the tip of his tongue slips past my tight entryway, entering me. He fucks me with shallow thrusts, readying me for all that’s to come.

I feel him reach for the bottle of lube on the bed, his tongue never straying. I suck in a breath. I can’t believe I’m letting him do this. Can’t believe I’m actually enjoying it.

He nips across my ass, making me start. “How did I find you?” he asks, more to himself than to me. “How did I get so lucky?” Then I feel the cold liquid being poured between my cheeks, making me gasp, and he once again begins his slow exploration, his long finger pushing insistently against me and I tense involuntarily, trying to expel him.

“Baby, relax.” Sebastian places a kiss on my low back, his touch gentle and calming. “Push out against me. I know this feels strange, but I promise, you’ll love it.”

I close my eyes and take a deep breath, trying to do as he says. He’s done this before, I realize. He’s let someone do this to him. The realization is oddly calming and I feel my muscles gradually give in. He won’t push me too far. He won’t hurt me. And as my body relaxes, I feel that first finger slowly penetrate me, making me gasp and clench down around him. The sensation is sharp and forbidden.

“That’s it, baby,” he coaxes. “You’re going great. Just breathe.” His words are like a calming balm, easing my senses.

He begins fucking me slowly, spreading the lubricant around inside my narrow passageway, readying me, and then there’s another finger pressing in with the first and I bite my lip as I push back against him, feeling him sink all the way in.

His other hand finds my throbbing clit, rubbing delicious circles against my engorged nerve center, nearly making me forget the fingers slowly fucking my ass. I shudder, my whole body on fire.

He withdraws, leaving me empty and panting. “Ready?” he asks. I nod frantically. I need him to get this over with before I change my mind.

Then I feel the cold metal against me, the smooth rounded tip pushing into me insistently as he continues stroking my clit with his expert fingers. I push back as the butt plug slowly slips into place, stretching me to the breaking point, the cold metal delicious against my burning flesh, the pain sharp and stinging, and I shudder as my body clamps down, hugging it in place.

Gently, Sebastian unclenches my hands and helps me to my feet. Just the slightest movement shifts the plug inside me, making me acutely aware of its heavy weight. With parted lips, I glance up to find Sebastian looking down at me proudly. He keeps his hands on my shoulders, steadying me and I’m afraid if he let’s go, my legs will give out and I’ll collapse.

Finally, he releases me and begins impatiently shedding his clothing, his eyes fixed on mine. I lick my lips when he pushes down his boxer briefs, the sight of his hard cock making my mouth go dry. How is it fair for a man to be so damn good-looking?

“On the bed,” he orders hoarsely.

I move gingerly, the unforgiving toy buried deep in my bowels inescapable, and lay back, sprawling provocatively before him. I blink slowly and begin rubbing my clit, watching Sebastian’s eyes go wide, a hungry smile spreading across his face.

“That’s it, baby. Make yourself feel good.”

I shudder, and then Sebastian is on me, his long hard body pressing me into the mattress as he finds my mouth, taking me savagely. No more delicate coaxing, just pure, unadulterated lust. Even the slightest movement makes me aware of the hard, foreign object stretching me to my limit.

When my fingers leave my sex, he grips my wrist, dragging my hand back and giving me a stern look. The message is clear.

He lifts my legs to his shoulders, spreading me before him as I pant, my mouth hanging open and then he’s easing into me, the muscles in his jaw tense, his cock impossibly hard, as I stretch to accommodate him, and I’m suddenly aware of the thin membrane that’s all that separates him from the plug filling my ass.

Sebastian throws his head back, a wild growl escaping the back of his throat as his cock slides home, filling me completely and I squeeze my eyes shut, trying to stay the sensations crowding inside of me as I stroke myself furiously, trying to release the mounting tension that threatens to consume me.

Sebastian’s jaw clenches in concentration, and I can see him struggling to remain still as he waits until I’m ready.

“You feel fucking amazing,” he groans. He kisses my neck, my face, my mouth, worshipping me with his lips. I shutter, Sebastian’s name escaping my damp lips and he must feel my gradual softening because he begins moving slowly, easing his cock from my soaking pussy only to push back in to the hilt, long leisurely strokes that must be driving him crazy. I twitch around him, my body so close, the dual sensation of Sebastian and the toy threatening to undo me. I’ve never been so full, so completely taken. While Sebastian fucks me with increasing fervor, I clamp down as first waves of pleasure overtake me, exploding through me, threatening to annihilate me and I feel my ass convulsing around the butt plug, the sensation wild and intense and that must do it, because Sebastian starts thrusting into me harder, faster.

“I’m coming,” he growls before screaming my name and I pull him deep inside me, not letting go until he’s emptied himself, until there’s nothing left for him to give. When he opens his eyes, the look of pure adoration fills me with such joy. Panting, Sebastian disentangles himself from my trembling limbs and goes to the bathroom, returning with a warm, damp washcloth. Wordlessly, he removes the metal toy and washes me tenderly with the washcloth and I twitch as the rough material brushes my overly sensitive clit.

He drops the washcloth on the floor and pulls me into his arms, kissing me deeply and I’m enveloped in his warm chest and the smell of our arousal and the sweat on his skin and it’s the most intoxicating smell imaginable.

It’s morning and Sebastian is sleeping deeply beside me, one hand splayed across my belly. I snuggle into him, aware that it’s time to get up but reluctant to abandon his warm embrace and the comfort of his bed. He mumbles something, his arms tightening around me until my back is pressed firmly against the hard contours of his chest, the possessive gesture warming me to my core.

I want to stay here forever. Just like this.

Reluctantly, I slide from the bed and he mumbles incoherently, trying to pull me back to him, but I evade him and head to the bathroom.

When I emerge, freshly showered and wrapped in a plush white towel, Sebastian is sitting up in bed, looking at his iPhone, his beautiful chest on display. He looks up, a beautiful smile illuminating his face.

“How are you feeling?” he asks, arching one eyebrow playfully.

“Amazing,” I admit. He nods smugly.

“Your things are in the closet if you’re feeling the need to get dressed.”

I make a face. “Sadly, I need to go home.”

Sebastian frowns but doesn’t say anything though I get the impression he’s less than thrilled with the idea.

“I have a meeting with Megan later this week and I need to be ready,” I explain.

“Work from here.”

I open my mouth to protest but he lifts his hand, silencing me with the gesture. “Danielle, I like having you here. There’s a desk in the guest room. It’s yours. Why not? There’s coffee. There’s a full fridge.”

He fixes me with his powerful green eyes and I have to admit, there’s something very tempting about the idea of staying here. Just a little longer. I feel like I’ve spent every moment with him, and I can’t help but worry we’re moving too fast. That he’ll get sick of me.

I can already see myself getting lost in his magnetic personality, swept up in the romance of it all. A romance that can only end badly.

As if seeing my resolve weaken, he gets out of bed, his powerful naked form striding towards me, striping my mind of coherent thought.

“I’m serious, Danielle. Don’t go.” He kisses my forehead before walking off towards the bathroom, leaving me speechless.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

I end up staying. I tell myself it’s because it’s easier to stay here than go home, but I know the fifteen minute subway ride back to Brooklyn isn’t what’s keeping me here.

No, it was the way Sebastian looked at me this morning when he asked me to stay. The unabashed desire I saw in his eyes. But not just desire. Affection.

Sebastian shows me the guest room, eyeing my ancient computer but saying nothing. I’m pretty sure he put the desk here just for me. People like Sebastian don’t need desks in their spare bedrooms, but I don’t ask. I honestly don’t want to know.

I’m putting the final touches on my introduction so when my phone rings, I answer without glancing at the screen.

“What’s up?”

“When were you planning on telling me you quit your job?” Connor asks and I can hear the hurt in his voice.

Fuck. I grimace. I can’t believe I forgot to tell Connor. “Sorry. It slipped my mind.”

“I stopped by to see you and that dick you work with had to be the one to tell me you quit. I felt like a total shit for not knowing.”

“What are you doing in the city?”

“Quiet day so I left work early. I’m at the Strand.”

The Strand is
the
used bookstore in New York. It’s also my least favorite place on earth. It’s hard to make a bookstore unpleasant, but somehow they have managed. Also, their bookshelves are too high. But it happens to be in Union Square.

I check the time. It’s a little after six and I’ve accomplished about everything I’m going to get done today. “Want to grab a drink? I’m nearby.”

“Meet you at the usual spot in fifteen?”

“Make it twenty.”

“Done.”

I don’t know what I’m going to tell Connor. About work. About Sebastian. But I know it will be easier to do in person. After a few drinks. I can’t keep Sebastian a secret forever. Though a part of me is tempted to try. To live in this little bubble we’ve created for a while longer.

Before I head out the door, I text Sebastian to let him I’m meeting Connor at Revival for drinks.

Will I see you later?

Yes.

Connor and I have been going to the same crappy dive bar on East 15
th
Street since college, and that’s where I find him, sitting alone at the bar with a pint of Yuengling, reading a book. Other than the bartender, he’s the only person here, which isn’t all that surprising since it’s still so early. He pulls me into a warm hug and kisses my cheek before letting me go.

I order a Yuengling and hang my bag from the hook under the bar. Really, all bars should have hooks. It’s a serious pet peeve of mine when they don’t. Cotton tote bags do not belong on barroom floors where they act as de facto dishrags, soaking up spilled drinks.

“You look different,” Connor says finally, no doubt noticing the new clothes I’m wearing.

I take a small sip of my beer. “What can I say, unemployment suits me.”

He laughs. “You’re hardly unemployed.”

I shrug. “Maybe not, but I
feel
unemployed. You know I haven’t had this much free time since high school. I actually read a book the other day. For fun.”

“The horror!” I shove Connor and he just laughs. “Anything good?”

“Naw, but it was lovely, just kicking back and reading. I forgot how much fun that could be.”

“Seriously, though, how’s the book coming along?”

“I don’t know. Good, I think. I’m meeting Megan tomorrow to go over the first draft. We’ll see what she says.”

“Are you nervous?”

“Terrified,” I admit.

Connor snorts. “You’ll be fine. You always do this. Act like you’re unprepared when you’re probably the most prepared person I know.” He takes a sip of his beer. “Did you ever get less than an A in college?”

“I almost failed Rocks for Jocks.”

“Oh, like that counts.”

“I started writing the foreword,” I say hesitantly and Connor just lifts one eyebrow. “It’s about mom.”

I don’t need to explain, I can see the understanding painted all over Connor’s face.

“That’s great.”

“Really?”

“I’ve read your translations. I know how much this book means to you. It makes sense to explain why.” This, right here, is why I love Connor. He never said a word when he was reading over my translations, but he knew. Even when I didn’t, he knew. And he didn’t push it. Not once.
