The rock music blasts around the block. He smirks at that. Julian remembers the balls he used to hold in his castle. He was known to have killer parties, literally. Of course he protected his people, but Loyals of other kingdoms would always trespass to his territory in hopes of going back to their kings with information. Those spies always made it in, but they never made it out. He doesn’t feel guilty for their harsh deaths. They brought it upon themselves.

The moon shines above him in the night. The crickets are soundless from the music that comes from the Pike home. He can feel the time approaching. It’s time to take what is his. This time there will be no hesitation, no regret, and no failures. Tonight is it. Julian will finally get what he has always wanted since those purple eyes laid on his black ones for the first time.

He slowly nods at Hans who’s watching him careful. Hans shifts into his ten foot wolf and lets out the howl of attack.

Alyssa makes her way to the back. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves much more than she thought.

She pushes past a couple of classmates before she hears the familiar voice above the loud crowd. “Great party Pike!” James Kingston, a jock, swings his red cup in the air and chugs it down. His blonde hair is plastered to his face from the seat the sweat that covers him.

She passes a few others who have the same red cup. As she’s pushing past a few of them she grabs the red cup of a girl who’s grinding and takes a sip of the liquid before giving it back to her. Now she knows why everyone seems to be having more fun than she thought. Someone has brought liquor to her party. Now she needs to find out who has it now, she wants a cup for herself. How could someone bring liquor and not give her any? That’s rude. It’s not every day you get to have a house party without worrying that the cops would be coming. She’s not going to be reserved for the night. That’s one thing she likes about her immortality so far. Miranda promised her that she would make sure that no one will crash the party under her watch. Apparently immortals have a way of dealing with the mortals to have things their way. She’s won’t be complaining anytime soon.

She stops walking towards the back when a woman, who she doesn’t know, pulls her for a dance. “Here’s one for you, beautiful.” She turns around to find Ian from the club handing her a red cup. She turns back around to find the woman has disappeared, leaving her with the last person she wants to see.

She turns back and takes the red cup from him. She smells it before she takes a swing at it. “What are you doing here?” She asks when she’s finally buzzed enough to pay him attention.

“I heard there was a party going on so I decided to come. Where’s your boyfriend?”

“I don’t have a boyfriend. Wow, luck is not on my side now. So tell me what you’re really doing here. This can’t be a coincidence.”

“Who’s the guy who punched me?” Ian pulls her to him by the waist so he can whisper in her ear. “My little brother wanted me to see him play by the way.”

She ignores his question. She remembers Julian pulling her away, but the punching part doesn’t ring a bell to her. “Which little brother?” She asks while pulling away to take another gulp of the lime favored liquor in her cup.

“Daniel Jacobs.”

“Oh, really?” He’s the drummer in Jim’s band.

“Yes. Now here I find you of all the places in the world. I would have never thought you would be a minor.”

“I’m not a minor. I’m eighteen.” Alyssa argues.

“Like I said. You’re a minor.”

“Since I’m a minor, does that mean you can run away like the stray dog you are?”

He smirks. “Nope, you’re legally aged to have sex with me.”

“You’re too confident. I wouldn’t have sex with you even if you were the last man on earth to ease my frustrations.”

“I thought you were my personal bad girl. You said it yourself.”

“I don’t remember that and if that was the case then it was the drinks talking.” His hands won’t leave her waist.

“Are you still going to play hard to get?” His grey eyes are still trying to charm her as always. When will he learn that she won’t fall for him like other women have before? She won’t be his next project.

Alyssa seductively runs her index finger to his lips in a teasing manner. “Playing hard to get would mean me actually wanting you which is not the case.” She pushes him away as he chuckles, letting her go. She walks to stand with the crowd that’s sitting and standing on the yard pass her pool.

Alyssa bobs her head as Vince Jacobs sings. Vince’s hair is as a sky blue color that matches his eyes perfectly. His pale skin and skinny, tall body compliments his crazed hair color choice. She can’t believe how amazing it feels to see Killer Color play live in her house. She loves how much she can see Jim enjoying playing his guitar to the rock song they play. Joey Jacobs, Vince’s twin brother, is playing bass next to Jim. His hair is a lime green color that matches his lime green rare eyes. Daniel Jacobs, Vince’s and Joey’s cousin is on the drums doing several tricks that impress the crowd. She rolls her eyes when she notices his yellow hair that mismatches his hazel eyes unlike his cousins. She will never understand the Jacobs craze sense of hair color. The only normal looking one is Jim. His black jeans blend with his black ‘Lamb of God’ band shirt. Well Jim doesn’t look like his normal self, he looks more emo, but that’s better than having orange hair to match the rest of the band members.

“How about we sing our song Broken Glass?” Vince yells to the crowd? Everyone cheers as the he begins to sing.

“I had no luck in the love life I set out to have,

I gave my heart to the one girl who made me laugh.

Her smile was epic,

Her laughs were senseless,

She had the body of a goddess,

But that wasn’t worth a damn!

She had me tie by the neck,

She hung me up and poked me like her toy.

She let me choke on my own love,

That little fake had me walking, on the broken glass, the broken glass of my heart.”

Vince continues to sing, but Alyssa snaps her head to a different direction. She could swear that she just heard a howl somewhere. She shrugs it off.

“Well, this is a good party.” Miranda appears next to her with a wine glass in hand. The glass somehow makes the Elim look older than the others, especially how her clear blue eyes scan the crowd like a secret agent on a mission.

“You drink?” She asks her new Elim with curiosity.

Miranda laughs in her heavenly voice. “Of course I do. I might be an Elim, but I’m not a saint.”

“Are you having fun?”

“Yes, I am. So far I have tried a game called body shots. If Gabriel were here, he would have snapped the neck of the man who would have dared touch me like that.”

“So you and Gabriel are together?”

“To me? No. To him? Yes. We are complicated.”

“I think anything that has to do with immortals is complicated.” Alyssa states with a shrug of her shoulders. They both jump up and down as the Killer Color starts to sing another song, but this time metal. Metal songs tend to make people feel invincible. That’s why Alyssa, Miranda, and most of the woman who have some kind of liquor in their hands, take off their tops to reveal the bikinis each one of them wears. They gulp their drinks before jumping into the pool several at a time. The women begin a water fight. The men, clearly enjoying the view, join the women. Alyssa feels herself being carried. She turns to Brandon with a scream as he drops her.

“Oh, you are going to pay for that Brady!” Alyssa yells before jumping on him.

Soon Alyssa leaves the pool to dry off, leaving the drunken teenagers to fight for the honor of water fights. She decides to take her shirt off and shorts. She notices the several knots in her hair so she makes her way up the stairs to her room. She grabs the small hair brush o the dresser and lightly brushes all the knots out. Alyssa takes a look in her mirror to check her appearance but what she finds is surprising. She turns around to stare into those black eyes that have enchanted her for years as well as haunt.

“Julian.” She whispers. His white shirt is covered in blood. He has his arms crossed with a small bloody knife on his hand.

“You’re heavily guarded Alyssa.” He says with a smirk playing on his lips.

She frowns at his amused smirk. She doesn’t know what to think about all the blood that is covering him. “What are you doing here?”

“I came here for you.” He takes a step forward.

“I thought we were over. You let me go.”

“I have been thinking. I don’t want to let you go.”

She shakes her head, taking a step back. Her back presses against her dresser. “I’m not playing this game with you Julian. It’s done. Leave me alone.”

“It’s not done until I say so.” He takes another step towards her.

She raises her hands up to stop him from getting closer to her. “Julian-”

One of his arms wrap around her waist, pulling her exposed body to his. He traces the point of the knife against her lips, tracing the outline of her rosy pale lips. She shudders from the warm metal. She has a feeling she knows why it’s warm.

Julian replaces the knife with his own lips.

“What are you doing?” She asks between his lips. His lips feel like heaven against hers, but she doesn’t know his intention. She can feel the knife against her back making her arch her body to his.

His eyes bore into hers. Those dark pools of black show nothing to her. “I’m getting what I want.” He lowers his eyes to her lips.

“What do you want?” She whispers afraid to sound breathless if she speaks any louder.

“You.” He attacks her lips with frustrated passion. Her arms wrap around his neck instantly when she feels the blade of the knife leave her back. She can feel the burn on her skin as his hands explore her very exposed body.

“Julian.” She moans when his hands lower to her thighs and pulls her up so her legs wrap around his waist perfectly.

He doesn’t say anything as he lays her down on her bed. She sits up to take off his shirt. His shirt is discarded to the floor. His lips trail kisses up her stomach, in between her breast, until they meet her lips once again. His hands explore her body, which she doesn’t reject. She loves the feel of his skin in contact with hers.

Her hands trail down his chest, but he stops her by entwining their hands, and raising them above her head. She can feel her hand become sticky with an unknown liquid. Her eyes snap open in realization instead of pleasure. She tries to push him off her, but his body seems to be made of stone. Her pushing has no effect on him.

“Julian, get off me.”

“Fine.” He gets off her without much work and stands in front of the foot of the bed. He raises his eyebrow in amusement as he smirks.

She jumps up from the bed and heads to her personal bathroom to grab her purple robe. She ties it twice to make sure it doesn’t open, but the robe barley covers her legs or her cleavage. At least it covers more than her purple bikini.

“Why are you covered in blood?”

“I said you were heavily guarded.”

“Did you kill the Elim Guards?”

“Only a few.”

“A few?”

“My men killed the rest.”

Her eyes widen. “You sound very causal about it.”

“It’s a causal thing.”

“Okay.” She takes a deep breath. “Apparently killing others is okay in the immortal lifestyle.” She nods to nothing in particular. “Why did you kiss me?”

“Do I need an explanation?”

“Are you going to try to kill me again?”

“If I wanted to kill you I wouldn’t try. I would do it.” He takes a step to her, but she holds her hand to stop him short. “I’m not going to kill you Alyssa. I give you my word.”

“Then you’re going to need an explanation for why you kissed me.”

He crosses his arms making the muscles on his naked chest flex at the action. “You’re going to make me say it?”

“I don’t know what you’re going to say.”

“You were right.” He states without any humor or teasing running in his voice. “The fight at The Jag. You fought me. You pulled my Longsword further into your neck daring me to kill you. You never once cowered away from me. After I told you to leave you came back. You looked right at me and let me go so you could move on.”

“I don’t understand what you’re getting at Julian.” She says.

“Annalisa would have used my love for her to her advantage. She would have never tested me. The Annalisa I know would always stand next to me no matter what because she loved me more that herself even if she did kill me and trapped me in the hell I live in.”

She lowers her eyes. She doesn’t feel guilty anymore, she just feels gloomy that he had to live that that life and now this one. He has to live with the fact that his love killed him without mercy. “I’m sorry you had to go through that Julian, but I can’t be sorry for killing you when I don’t remember it happening.”

“I know.” She doesn’t notice how close he is to her. He lifts her chin with her index finger, but she doesn’t stare into his black eyes. “The Annalisa I know wouldn’t feel sorry for anything. She would have blamed it on the curse. You never did.” She confusingly looks up at him. “When you gave me the necklace I gave you years ago, I started to think. I fell in love with the person who is so much different than the person I knew. You always resembled Annalisa, but you didn’t have her eyes. I fell in love with the strong hearted Alyssa Pike. Not Annalisa.”

Her eyes fill with unshed tears. Her hands cup his face with desperation. “What are you trying to say?” She whispers. “Tell me!” She raises her voice.

“I love you.” She closes her eyes as she sobs hysterically. Her forehead is pressed against his. “I know now that you don’t remember anything. Even if you did, I can’t hate you. You were created for me, only me. We are destined to always find each other.”

“Why did it take you so long?”

“I never show weakness.”

“What does that have to do with anything? I already know that.” She opens her eyes to find answers in his eyes, but as always, he shows her nothing.

“You’re my weakness Alyssa. You always have been.” Julian wipes the tears that fall down her face with the pad of his thumb.
