Sitting
beside him I open up the pizza box and pull us each out a slice. I immediately
spin my pizza around and bite into the crust first. Kayden rolls his eyes at me
as he watches me chow down on the cheesy goodness.

“You
are so weird. Why the hell do you eat your crust first?” He asks, in between
bites.

I
take a pull from my coke, eyeing him over the bottle. Setting my drink down, I
furrow my brows together, “Seriously? Everyone knows you’re supposed to eat the
crust first. You don’t want the cheese to get hard.” I answer matter-of-factly,
trying my best to keep a straight face.

“So,
why are we here eating pizza in the middle of a football field?” I finally ask,
after sitting for a few minutes in silence. The only sounds is that of us
eating, drinking and crickets off in the distance.

Leaning
back, Kayden rests his hands on either side of him and stares up at the stars
beginning to pop up in the inky sky.

“Almost
all of my best memories are on this field. My sister was my biggest
cheerleader. She’d stand on the sidelines with my parents wearing my number
painted on her cheek, cheering me on. After every home game we had on Friday
nights, the whole team, our coaches, and my parents and sister, we’d all get
together at Pizza Hut and spend hours eating pizza, drinking cokes and either
celebrating or sulking, depending on how the game went.”

I
love how Kayden is opening up to me, I’m getting to see another side to him,
and slowly I’m peeling away the layers that are Kayden Knox. I know this isn’t
easy but I appreciate that he is stepping out of his comfort zone for me.

“I
wish I would’ve known you back then and had the chance to get to know Melody.
It’s sad she’ll never get to know her nieces or nephews, or them knowing their
aunt.”

Kayden
takes my hand, and pulls on it, silently asking me to get on his lap. I gladly
do so, climbing on top of him with my knees on either side of his legs. I slide
my hands through his hair and tug gently on it, tipping his head back and forcing
his eyes to meet mine.

“I
think about that every single day. She was obsessed with babies; her room was
filled with dolls, and little strollers. She loved playing mommy, and every
family gathering we had she would spend the entire time playing with our baby
cousins.” Sadness clouds his eyes momentarily before he blinks it away.

I
flutter kisses along his jaw, relishing in the feel of his beard scratching my
lips. Pressing my lips to his ear I whisper, “I love you Knox, and when we have
all of our little Knox babies we’ll make sure they know about their aunt.”

Wrapping
his arms tightly around me, Kayden stands; gripping the nape of my neck with
his strong, callused hand he crashes his mouth to mine for an explosive,
overwhelmingly raw, passionate kiss.

Instantly
my body erupts with desire and is burning hot, his skin on mine feels like hot
coals scorching my skin. “I need you.” I murmur against his lips, before his
tongue dives into my mouth, consuming it. I don’t even realize we’re moving and
Kayden has started walking back towards the car.

Pulling
away from his kiss and panting for air, I ask breathlessly, “What about our
stuff!?”

“Don’t
worry, Baby; I’ll call someone to clean it up. I need to be inside of you.
Right. Fucking. Now!” His Southern drawl is thick and hot, sending shivers
along my spine.

Holding
me with one arm, Kayden unlocks the fence with the other; within seconds he has
it locked again and is tossing me into the back seat of the Maserati.

Working
quickly, Kayden unbuttons my shorts, shimmy’s them off me and tosses them onto
the floor. He undoes his belt buckle, and doesn’t waste any time sliding his
jeans down to his ankles.

I
straddle his lap as he pulls my tank top over my head, unfastens my bra and
lets it fall to the floor next to my other clothing.

“Leave
the boots on baby.” He husks, his voice is rich with sex and desire, making me
just about combust on the spot.

“Okay.”
My words come out breathless, as I slide onto his exceptional length. I ease
down on to it slowly, letting it fill me completely.

“Fuckkkk!”
Kayden hisses between clenched teeth. “You feel fuckin’ amazing.”

Gripping
my hips firmly, he begins moving me along his velvety cock. Digging my fingers
into his shoulders I toss my head back moaning with pleasure, “Ohhh
myyyy…Kayden.” I chant, as I increase my speed.

The
thrill of being out in the open, in a public place where people could see us
just by walking up to the car, increases the pleasure I’m experiencing. My
pussy is throbbing with want, with the need for an orgasm.

Running
a hand along my spine, Kayden works his hand up to my hair. Fisting it, he
pulls and tilts my head up towards the roof of the car. Sucking and nibbling on
my neck he works his mouth down to my breast and takes it into his mouth.
Sucking on it, he teases my nipple with his tongue causing it to become erect.

I
can feel my climax building; rotating my hips, Kayden raises his body meeting
me thrust for thrust pushing me closer to the edge. Between the feeling of
Kayden’s hand digging into my hip, and his fingers tangled in my hair, mixed
with his mouth, tongue and teeth teasing my breasts and nipples, I am seconds
away from falling over the edge of ecstasy.

I
grind my clit into his pubic bone as I slam down on his dick, causing it to
crash into my cervix, sending a mixture of pleasure and pain coursing through
my body. Wrapping my arms around Kayden’s neck, I press my face into his
shoulder; I feel him growing harder and his girth expanding as he inches closer
to his release.

Together
we erupt into euphoria, screaming out in pleasure as our orgasms rip through
our bodies. My body shakes and feels completely numb as it comes back down from
the high it was just on.

Lifting
my face from his shoulder, I stare into Kayden’s mesmerizing green eyes. The
only light in the car is from a street light a few feet away, so the car is
dark with a faint glow seeping through the windows, but Kayden’s eyes are
burning brightly into mine.

“That
was…you were…amazing.” I say between breaths, as a smile creeps across my lips.

A
panty dropping smile stretches across Kayden’s face as he twirls a strand of my
hair around his finger, “Yes it was, and so were you darlin’. You ready to head
back to the hotel for round two?”

“Oh
my gosh. You are a machine, I swear!”

“Baby,
when it comes to you, I can never have enough.” Kayden says matter-of-factly.”

“I
love you, you crazy nympho.” I tease, kissing a trail from his jaw to his neck.

Squeezing
my backside; a low growl rumbles in Kayden’s chest, he bites playfully on my
shoulder before saying the three words I can never hear him say enough: “I love
you too, Baby.”

I
didn’t think it was possible, but I think I just fell even more in love with
this wild, crazy, too sexy for his own damn good, man. I hope I never stop
falling.

Chapter Eleven

Our
weekend in Austin was amazing and a huge step for us. After everything we’ve
been through, we are both truly trying to be more open with one another. Our
therapist couldn’t emphasize enough that communication and trust is the most
important thing to have in a relationship. Without either of those things
you’re building a relationship on a weak foundation, all it takes is one bad
storm to blow it all away.

I
feel like our relationship is stronger than it ever was and know deep down in
my soul that I can trust Kayden, and he feels the same about me. He not only
trusts that I’ll be faithful to him, but also trusts me enough to open up about
his past.

On
Saturday night, I was lying on the couch in the hotel room, snacking on
chocolate pretzels when Kayden said he wanted to watch something with me. I was
shocked when he pulled a DVD out of his overnight bag and told me it was a
video his mom recorded of his first game as starting quarterback in College.

Wearing
nothing but Kayden’s Longhorn tee, my favorite thing to sleep in, I curled up
on the couch snuggling into Kayden to watch the two hour home video.

There
were some cute shots of Melody in the bleachers cheering her big brother on; it
made me feel like I was right there with them. Kayden looked amazing in his
football uniform.

Every
time Melody came into view or we heard her voice in the background, a smile
stretched across Kayden’s face and he would hug me a little tighter.

I
was nervous watching this after he told me he hadn’t seen a video of her since
her memorial service when they played a tribute video of her. I wasn’t sure how
he would react, but I was happy to see watching one of his favorite moments was
bringing a smile to his face instead of sadness.

The
next day he brought me with him to the graveyard where we sat for a little
while, not speaking, we just sat on the grass and watched the birds flying
around.

We
decorated her grave with new flowers, and I placed a tiny angel statue on the
grass beside her gravestone. I knew it was perfect when I spotted it in a gift
shop window that morning. We haven’t really talked about his sister since we
got back from Austin, but Kayden has made an effort to be more hands on with
her foundations. He’s even asked me to help with some of the events he’s
planning this year.

It’s
been a week since our little weekend getaway. As soon as we got back, I dove
right into wedding planning mode. I’ve been working non-stop with my wedding
planner Heather and her assistant Caroline, going over the details for the
wedding and reception.

Right
now we’re on Kayden’s jet preparing to land in LAX. We have a full weekend
ahead of us with my parents. They have a week off from touring before they head
to the UK for their European tour, so they planned an engagement party for
Kayden and I this weekend at their mansion in Bel Air.

Then
on Sunday, my mom and Brooklyn are taking me to try on bridal gowns. My mother
had called one of her friends who owns a bridal shop in LA and had her order
the dresses I liked. I’m excited to finally get my dress, because once I have
it, all that’s left is our wedding. It’s approaching fast. We only have three
months before the big day.

~~~
Stepping
off the plane, I look up at Kayden and smile as I take his hand. There’s a town
car waiting on the tarmac with a heavy set, middle aged looking man standing
beside the car in a black suit.
“Good
afternoon, Mr. Knox.” The man greets us, opening the door so we can slide into
the back seat.
“A
good afternoon it is. Glad to see the sun is peaking out. I was afraid we’d be
getting wet the second we stepped off the jet,” Kayden flashes the man a
mega-watt smile, before joining me in the backseat.
Within
seconds of leaving LAX, we pull into the crazy LA traffic. I snuggle up beside
Kayden and lace my fingers in between his. Resting our entwined hands on his
lap, Kayden rubs small circles on the top of my hand.
Laying
my head on his shoulder, I watch out the window at the vehicles driving beside
us. I’m looking at the cars, but my mind is elsewhere; all I can think about is
our getaway this weekend. While in LA, I’ll have my weekly get together with
Eloise for Envy…I love the flexibility of not going to the Envy building every
day for work; working from home makes it possible for me to keep my job and
live in Texas with Kayden.
“While
you’re at work, I’m going over to The Knox Hotel and check on things there.
When you’re finished working, just have the driver bring you there and we’ll
head over to your parent’s house.”
Pulling
my hand free, I press it against Kayden’s face; I love the feeling of his light
stubble on my fingertips. “Sounds like a plan. I was thinking about asking
Reagan and Rebecca if they’d like to have lunch with us tomorrow before the
party. We can all catch up…If that’s okay with you?”
Kayden’s
eyes are smiling as he speaks, “Sure. I’d love to have lunch with them. I know
how much you miss not having them around all the time and I’d do anything to
see that smile you’re sporting right now.” Leaning down, Kayden seals his lips
on mine as he slides his hand slowly along my side, squeezing it possessively.
I melt into his touch; I don’t even care that there’s a total stranger in the
driver seat. All I care about is the delicious kiss he’s giving me right now.
Pulling
away from his kiss, I tilt my head up at him, and lean back against the cool
leather seat, “Thank you. I’ll text you from work and let you know if they’re
free.”
After
a twenty minute drive, we finally come to a stop outside the Envy building. I
give Kayden one more kiss as the driver comes around opening the door for me.
“See you in a few; love you!” I say cheerfully, sliding out of the car. I blow
Kayden a kiss before making my way into building.
“Afternoon
Miss. Livingston, looking as gorgeous as ever.” Terrance says, with a chipper
tone as he opens the door for me. He’s worked as the doorman to the Envy
Building since I’ve been here, and for many years before that.
“Aww,
thanks Terrance. You’re looking as dashing as ever.” I say, flashing him a big
smile before entering the building.
The
lobby is flooded with people in expensive suits and high priced dresses and
heels. It’s finally not so weird only coming into the Envy Building once a
week. Flying out on Thursdays or Fridays has become a weekly routine.
Eloise
sent me a text message saying she had a surprise for me when I come in today;
I’ve been on pins and needles ever since. I wave hello to Kristin and Natasha,
the receptionists in the lobby, and make my way to the wall of elevators.
Stepping
in, I push the fourteenth floor and cram myself into the packed elevator. I
hate the odd feeling of being stuffed into a small space with total strangers;
I just stare at my manicure and wait for my floor.
Finally,
the doors open, I step out and make my way towards Eloise’s office. Everyone’s
busy working in their cubical on the next issue of Envy. I don’t see Rebecca
anywhere, so I’ll have to send her a text to see if she’s down for lunch
tomorrow.
The
sound of my heels clicking on the tile is barely audible over all the chatter
between my co-workers. A few notice me walking by and shout hello to me as I
pass their desks.
Stopping
in front of Eloise’s office door, I smooth out my dress and knock on the door.
I am anxious to learn what we’ll be working on today as I’ve already emailed
her all the other work for the issue she sent me at the beginning of the week.
The
office door swings open, and Eloise pops up in front of me. Her blonde hair is
pulled up into a tight bun, and she looks as gorgeous as ever in her black
A-line skirt and silver silk blouse. “Aww, Savannah! Perfect timing…come in.”
As
soon as I step into her office, she shuts the door behind me and my jaw hits
the damn floor. Leaning against the wall of windows, is Jake freakin’ Wethers!
The lead singer of The Mighty Storm! I don’t listen to too much rock, but
Brooklyn is obsessed with them and got me to go to one of their concerts before
their guitarist, Johnny, died. I have absolutely fallen in love with their
music.
“Savannah,
this is Jake Wethers, from…”
I
cut Eloise off before she can finish, “The Mighty Storm, yes I am a huge fan!”
I gush and quickly try to tone down my fan girlin’ and put my professional face
back on. “We met when my friend and I attended his concert here in LA a few
years back. You guys are amazing.” I manage to say, keeping my tone at a normal
level.
Flashing
me a cocky grin, Jake steps towards me, extending his hand, “Nice to meet you
again Savannah, glad to hear you’re a fan.”
Eloise
grabs her tablet off of her desk, and I just stand there smiling at Jake like
an idiot. I meet famous people all the time, you’d think I’d be used to it
growing up with celebrity parents, but there’s just something about Jake
Wethers that makes you act like a sixteen year old mega-fan.
“Jake
here is getting ready to debut his new album with The Mighty Storm, so we’ve
asked him to grace the cover of our July issue. To our excitement, he agreed!
So, I’ve written up a list of questions for you to ask when interviewing him. I
thought I’d let you do the interview since I have so much on my plate. June’s
issue has to be ready for print next week.”
Holy
shit! I get to interview Jake Wethers. Pinch me now, please! This job
definitely has its perks. Hell, if it wasn’t for me getting the assistant
editor position I’d never have met Kayden; I can’t even begin to imagine what
my life would be like if I’d never met him.
“I’m
honored that you asked.” Jake says, sliding his eyes from Eloise and over to
me. He’s wearing a vintage Jim Morrison t-shirt and tight leather pants with
black boots. He just screams sex.
“Oh,
and Reagan is going to do a shoot with him in the studio, so after you’re
finished, can you show him to the twelfth floor?” Eloise asks as she types away
on her tablet.
“Yea,
I gotta talk to Reagan anyway, so that works out perfectly.”
Lifting
her head, Eloise flashes me a small smile, “Okay, well you’re all set. I just
emailed you all the interview questions; you can interview Jake down in the
conference room so you will have some privacy.”
“Thanks.”
Spinning around on my heels, I look over my shoulder at Jake and we make our way
down to the conference room.
~~~

Walking
out to the town car I am still in shock at what just transpired. I got to
interview Jake Wethers. He was so sweet too, which was surprising; you think
Rock Star equals douchebag, but surprisingly he is really nice and easy to talk
to. Thank God I stay up to date on celebrity gossip, so I knew about his fiancé
and her pregnancy. Fortunately, I didn’t sound clueless asking him the
questions Eloise wrote up for me.

I
was able to talk to Reagan for a few minutes before he had to do the shoot with
Jake. I’m thrilled he’s free to have lunch tomorrow with Kayden and me. I also
reached Rebecca a few moments ago and she can make lunch, too. I can’t wait to
get the three musketeers’ together again; I miss working with them every day.

Climbing
into the back seat, I fire off a quick text to Kayden letting him know I’m on
my way and that we’re good for lunch tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow is going to
be crazy. After lunch my mother has Quinn and Fionna coming over to the house
to do our hair, make-up and mani-pedi’s for the party.

The
party is black tie so everyone will be wearing the most expensive suits and
gowns and snacking on the fanciest hors d’oeuvres. There will be some family,
along with country music’s biggest stars, and some A-list actors.

I
prefer the low key kind of celebration that Kayden and I had two weeks ago at
the beach with our friends, compared to an over the top extravagant party, but
I only get married once, so I’ll let mom have her fun.

~~~
“Hey,
stranger!” Reagan shouts, as Kayden and I sit down at the outdoor cast iron
table at Dee’s Café. Rebecca is sitting beside him with a smile stretched
across her face.
“Hey,
yourself! You’re the one who can’t find the time to ever come down to Galveston
and visit your bestest friend in the whole wide world!” I tease, sitting down
beside him.
Kayden
laughs at our bantering as he skims over the menu. Rebecca leans on her elbows
and slides her eyes from Reagan back to me, “Reagan here has been too busy
hooking up with Megan when he’s not working, leaving him little to no time for
his friends.” Rolling her eyes, she smirks and takes a sip of water.
I
had no idea Reagan and Megan were even seeing each other? I thought they just
had that one random hook-up at Logan’s masquerade ball. “Soooo, you and Megan,
huh?” I ask, eyeing Reagan.  He knows better than to dance around the subject.
I want all the juicy details, “Is she your plus one to the party tonight?”
Reagan’s
cheeks flush red, which Kayden seems to find amusing, “Ahh, I know that look.
He’s got it bad for this Megan chick.” Kayden says matter-of-factly, leaning
back in his chair and resting his arm on the back of my chair. “So, why are ya
holdin’ out on us buddy?”
