his chapter begins by exploring humans’ ability to deliberately focus attention on pleasurable tactile sensations—an ability we have with each of our
five senses. It also touches on our capacity for concep- tual (imaginative) thought. We are presenting you with the tools for having instant orgasms. We outline exercises to enhance this ability; for some, doing the exercises will trigger instant orgasms. The second part of the chapter describes exercises for increasing your body’s ability to feel extended pleasure with the first stroke and beyond, with special emphasis on building connections between your genitals and the rest of your body.

Y Receptivity Z
As we’ve discussed, a person who wishes to experience an instant orgasm must first be receptive to the idea. In the last chapter we considered how our minds can become open to this concept. Now we will focus on how our minds influence our bodies. You must get your body into the receptive mode. You have to place your attention on your body’s tactile sensations, and you have to refocus your attention on these sensations whenever you have extrane- ous thoughts. This means placing your attention on your genitals; this is how you create the desire and the sensation. Our nervous system is constantly in- undated with all kinds of sensual overload, and our brains usually uncon- sciously decide which sensations to allow us to notice and which ones to keep us from noticing.
Our consciousness is only able to perceive a small amount of the sensa- tion that is bombarding us; the rest is lost. In addition, our minds are cluttered with extraneous thoughts and past losses. I know for myself that when some- thing negative occurs in my personal universe I tend to dwell on it, foregoing any positive movement forward. We have to make a concerted effort to put our attention on something pleasurable.
We are also difference-sensing beings; that is, our attention is drawn to a change in stimulation. If there is a change in what you smell—for example, a woman walks into your presence wearing fresh perfume—you will notice it, but only for a while. You will notice a loud noise, but if it continues at a steady frequency, at some point you will no longer be as keenly aware of it.
We humans have the ability to override this internal censor and focus our attention on any specific sense. Most of the time, even though our sense of touch is being stimulated, we do not notice it, as our unconscious censor is keeping us focused on some other sense or on some negative thought. Did you feel your buttocks on the chair until you read this sentence? We thought not.
By deliberately training ourselves to feel the potential pleasure in our geni- tals we can feel much more than we think is possible—and this ability expands with use. We can learn to silence most of our other senses and to concentrate on specific pleasures of the genitals. However, we are generally so used to be- ing on the lookout for negative stimuli, such as pain or discomfort, that it
may take some time to grasp the idea of receiving pleasurable stimuli anytime we desire.
Y Focusing Your Attention Z
The ability to feel pleasure whenever you so desire and wherever you are may very well be innate to all of us; however, by the time we are adults it is usually forgotten. When we are newborns our skin loves to be touched. Our baby ner- vous system “connects” much of our skin so that being touched feels good all over our body. As we grow up we learn to differentiate one area of our body from another, and the old nerve connections fall out of use. Without use, the nerves fail to send signals as often or as well as they once did, and these path- ways atrophy. From a functional viewpoint, this is actually a positive change that helps us to determine what area of our body is being touched and to re- spond correctly. One does not want to pull one’s foot away from the hot stove if one’s hand is burning. The downside is that we feel less overall; we are not pleasured all over, but rather only in restricted areas—one area at a time if we are lucky.
Here’s a major concept behind instant orgasm: You can actually have both the functional (compartmentalized) and the pleasurable (connected) nervous system available to you at all times if you are willing to practice certain skills. There are a number of exercises that can bring back the ability to feel sen- sation all over the body from the experience of a single touch. These involve developing the ability to properly focus your attention. Some of the exercises may seem simple, yet practicing them repeatedly is usually required to bring results for most people. There is no strict timetable that fits everybody, but if you continue these exercises we can say that you will become more proficient at feeling more pleasure in less time. Many of our women students are hap- pily surprised at how much they can actually feel when given the permission
to do so.
Here’s a simple exercise to get you started. At any time of the day when you think it is safe to do so, place your attention on your genitals for a few sec- onds with the intention of feeling as much pleasure as you can. You can use different associations to remind you to practice—for example, when you are
stopped at a red light. (You may even start to look forward to red lights instead of feeling negative about them.) Or perhaps you can practice just before you open a door. These practice episodes take only a few seconds of your time. The best time to do them is when you are not focusing on any other activity; there- fore, it is better to do them at a red light instead of when you are driving. This way you can put all of your attention on any sensation you feel. Do not expect to feel a great amount of sensation at first. Approve of any sensation you feel, even if it is just a little heat or a minute amount of feeling or tingling. Other examples of good times to practice include while watching a commercial on TV (or perhaps given the inane nature of many of today’s TV shows it may be a good time to put your attention on your body while the show itself is being aired) or when you see someone attractive as you are walking down the street. (For our women readers, know that the latter example could be risky, as peo- ple may respond to a woman who is feeling turned on. This may be better ad- vice for a man than for a woman.)
Reading is another time when people are usually alone, and it can be a splendid occasion to practice feeling immediate sensation. Try doing it at the end of a page or at the end of a chapter. Whenever you come to the end of some logical division in a book, feel free to focus on your genitals for a few seconds. As a matter of fact, right now would be a perfect time to start this practice. Put the book down for a few seconds, close your eyes (if you like), and place your attention on feeling as much pleasurable sensation in your pussy or penis as possible.
We are glad that you have begun your training in becoming instantly or- gasmic. Regardless of how much or how little you felt just now, you are on the path. Be creative about when and where you do this noticing. We have given you a number of ideas; you are free to choose among them and, of course, to come up with your own.
Y Ways of Touching Yourself Z
This section suggests several ways to experiment with touching yourself. For both men and women, instant orgasm is about noticing and maximizing the initial burst of sensation that occurs when you first focus your attention on
your genitals. So for the sake of these activities, we want you to feel the sensa- tions for a second or so and then stop. You can repeat each exercise as often as you care to. The goal is to feel increased sensation from the get-go; the more often you do this, the better you will become at feeling from the first stroke. So start and stop, start and stop, and so on.
In the tub or shower
A good time to play with your sensations could be in a Jacuzzi or bathtub as you let the water flow over your genitals. The shower is another great place to experience some intentional instant pleasuring. You are naked, no one is around, and it is easy to focus on different parts of your body. You can start by feeling the air on your pleasure spots. Then you can feel the water from the showerhead against your genitals. Proceed in an on-and-off manner, for not too long—and see if you can become pleasured with just a little attention. You can touch yourself with the bar of soap or with your hand, just touching, not necessarily stroking. Feel the pleasure, and approve of what you feel. We pre- dict that you will at least feel the beginnings of tingling sensations.
With a Water Hose
The water hose is a great accessory for women who are seriously interested in exploring their sensuality. The hose can be a simple rubber tube attached to the bathtub faucet. Some hoses come with a showerhead; you can simply cut off the spray portion and leave the small-bored water hose. Some tubs won’t fit a simple accessory; if that’s the case then you’ll have to go to the hardware store and get a special attachment. You can tell the salesperson that you want an attachment to hose off your pet in the tub. This small investment can go a long way.
Once you have obtained your hose, fill your tub with a few inches of warm water and play with the water flowing from the hose. For women, this is a great replacement for a vibrator, which can numb the nerves. Lying back, aim the hose at your vulva and clitoral area. Play with the pressure by either chang- ing the amount of water released from the faucet or pinching the hose. This may take some getting used to, so please give this exercise more than one try. We know of many women who dearly love their baths.
Another water possibility is the bidet. Most European homes have one, but few American homes do. Some luxury hotels have them. The water tem- perature and pressure can be adjusted, and if you get into the right position you can aim the water flow directly at your most sensual areas.
Whether you’re using a hose or a bidet, play with your initial feelings by aiming the water directly at the different areas of your genitals for only a short time. Check out your labia, your perineum, your anus, and of course your cli- toris, with the hood both in place and retracted. See which areas spark the most sensation. Later you can graduate to keeping the water aimed at your genitals for longer amounts of time, but right now we are especially interested in getting you to feel more sensation from the very first, and slightest, moment of contact.
Using Fantasy
It is okay to fantasize if it heightens what you feel. This may work better for men, as most women have longer, more involved fantasies that take time to develop, and again the goal is to feel the sensation now and to feel it quickly. Furthermore, whereas women can turn on at will, men require a woman to become turned on, or they use some other force, such as a touch or a fantasy, if no woman is interested or available. A few paragraphs above we mentioned how men can feel pleasurable sensations in their genitals when they pass a pretty woman. Some men can also direct attention on their crotch when they see an attractive woman on TV. Many men will already have been doing this, as men are very visual and can fantasize easily. The point here is to do it delib- erately, do it only for a few seconds, and then stop and repeat, if desired. We want you to gain more control over these sensations and to learn how to cre- ate them whenever you want to. Do not, of course, interact with a woman on the street when you are in this mode, as the goal is for you to feel, not to find a relationship. If finding a relationship is your goal then your attention must be placed elsewhere.
Women, if you want to interact with some stranger on the street—which most women do not want to do—then it may be okay to place your attention on your pussy. However, this could get you into trouble, so, again, we do not recommend it.
