Read Irreversible Damage (Irreparable) Online
Authors: KJ Bell
I turn to her and shrug. “I was close.”
She rolls her eyes as she reaches for the door. “You’re an asshole.”
“Thank you!” I shout at the door she just slammed. I’ve been called worse by better.
I have to remember not to get so hammered. It apparently dulls my crazy clinger-type radar, because I was way off with that one. I rub the side of my jaw where the first shoe she threw unexpectedly nailed me.
I didn’t make her any promises. She’s pissed because sex isn’t what she actually came here for. Every woman I bring home is sure they’ll be the one, and that I’ll suddenly want to settle down with them. They don’t want me. They want my last name and my bank account. I’m not going to feel bad about using their greed to get what I want. Fuck! Maybe I am an asshole. Sex dulls my emotions. When I’m with a woman it’s not about feeling. It’s about not feeling.
It’s the only time I forget about Tori.
It numbs the pain.
Acknowledgements
Writing is a journey of learning and growth. I have made mistakes, but I learned from those mistakes with a lot of encouragement from those who stood by and nudged me to write the story better, and not to settle for fine. I owe them all many thanks.
For starters; my incredible family who puts up with me, especially at crunch time. Tom (my husband), for his love and support. He’s my rock. My kids have sacrificed a lot of mommy time, and eaten a lot of junk food. I promise to make it up to them.
Without my mother, I might still be writing my first book. She babysat the little one for countless hours so I could concentrate. I love her dearly.
Big time thanks to Vicki, for her willingness to read my books from the first draft to the end, and for always giving me her honest feedback, even when I disagree with her.
I like “new” Tug
. A sincere thank you, to Kim, Liz, and Kirsty for their continued support and enthusiasm. You all kept me going.
Mad, crazy, love to Nic, for believing in my characters from day one and supporting me. This journey is much easier to take with help from others in the community and I love that she’s always along for the ride. Thank you, D, for inviting me on many sprints with amazing authors. Those late nights challenged me and pushed me forward.
A thousand thank you’s to the readers who have e-mailed me along the way to ask when
Irreversible Damage
would be out. Just knowing you were excited to read this story kept my fingers on the keys.
Finally, to the bloggers who have stayed in touch, read ARC’s, and took the time to review my books. You all rock my socks off. I’m in complete awe of how hard you work. There aren’t enough words to thank you.
