“That don’t make sense to me.”
“How come?”
“I mean…I never had real love, but I figured it would be different…unconditional.”
“I don’t understand?”
“Like, if you love a person, you gonna love them how they are.” I paused. “And yeah I like to drink, but this me. What happened to taking me the way that I am?”
“But you also change for people you love. Are you willing to do that for me?”
We stopped walking and looked at our friends who were now jumping on people’s cars causing their alarms to go off. If they were caught, we were far enough behind them to go our separate ways and get the fuck out of dodge.
“All I know is I gotta have you. I want a life with you.” Then I touched her stomach. “I want you to have my baby.”
She pushed my hand away. “Mad, lets just enjoy our time right now. When you get so serious it makes me nervous. Keep it light.”
She was gonna leave me I just knew it.
“Now give me some of that shit.” She said talking about the bottle of Henny in my hand.
“Now that’s my bitch.”
“Whateva, nigga.”
I poured the Henny down her throat and kissed her. She spit the liquor back in my mouth and our tongues fucked. My joint was throbbing like shit and I wanted to jump on top of her until I came.
“We got a cab!” Krazy yelled three blocks up the street. “There’s another one behind it! Wokie holding it for you! Let’s roll!”
