“You will end up hating me if you lose
your family, years down the line when you
would stop being angry and realise what you
have lost.”

“No, not as much as I would hate them
if I lost you three.”

“You wouldn’t lose the baby Andreus.”

“I don’t want to lose you or Rhiannon
either Kate, this isn’t just about our baby! I’ve
called you countless times everyday since you
left, I didn’t even know about the baby then!”

“It’s a boy.” She blurted out.

“We’ve got a son?” He smiled as she
nodded. “one of each is perfect although I
would have been thrilled with another girl. Is
everything ok? Have either of you got any
problems?”

“No, we’re both fine.”

“Did you know about the baby before
you left Greece?”

“No, I didn’t find out until the end of
January. I fainted at work I hadn’t been
looking after myself, I was hardly eating or
sleeping, the doctors thinks it was our son
warning me to take better care of him.”

“How far along are you?”

“Twenty one weeks.”

“I wish I had known, I would have been
there for you for every scan, blood test,
everything.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s ok.” He smiled. “So will you come
back with me?”

“No…”

“Kate…”

“We can be together like before at least
until the baby is born. It’ll be too stressful for
me to move to Greece at the moment. It will
also give your mum a chance to get used to
it.”

“Ok.” He smiled. “I can move to
London for six months, I’ll work from the
apartment. I will have to travel to Greece once
a week and maybe to Milan for a week but it
will work.”

“Are you sure?”

“Absolutely.” He smiled. “Will you and
Rhiannon move into the apartment?”

“Yes. Mum, dad and Ellie will help me
whilst you are waiting to come over.”

“Good.” He stood up and pulled her to
her feet. “Now will you kiss me?” he laughed
ad he bent and kissed her passionately.

“Have a shave.” She laughed rubbing
her face.

“First thing in the morning.” They
called Gregory, Heather and Ellie downstairs
and told them everything, then Andreus left
promising to see her tomorrow before flying
to Greece to get ready to move to London.

Chapter 27

Andreus came to the house late the next
morning shaved and he’d had his hair cut.
“It’s about time!” Katie laughed as she kissed
him. “I thought you weren’t coming.”

“As if.” He wrapped his arms around
her waist. “I was taking care of my orders,
freshly shaved and a hair cut.”

“Much better.”

“I’m glad you approve. So what have
you been doing this morning?”

“I’ve been packing.”

“What? Katie you said your parents
Ellie would help you.”

“They will. After work. I’ve only been

packing clothes I promise.”

“You shouldn’t be doing that.”

“Ok, I’ll stop.”

“Do you want me to send Charmaine
around?”

“Your housekeeper?”

“Our housekeeper.”

“No, we’ll be fine.”

“Katie…”

“I promise I wont do anymore packing.
What time is your flight?”

“Four o’clock.”

“Perfect.” She took his hand and led
him up to her bedroom. She wrapped her arms
around his neck and pulled his head down for
a lingering kiss. Katie slipped her hands
between them and started to lift his jumper, he
pulled away quickly. “What’s wrong?” She
looked hurt. “Don’t you want me?”

“God babe! Do you really need to ask?”
He gestured to his painful erection.

“So what’s the problem?”

“Should we be doing this?”

“Why not? I thought we are back
together.”

“We are sweetheart. Is it safe for the
baby?”

“Oh!” She laughed. “It’s fine until the
last month, in the last month it could
encourage premature labour.”

“How do you know that?”

“From the books I read when I was
pregnant with Rhiannon.” She closed the gap
between them and tried to lift his jumper
again, this time he didn’t resist, she ran her
fingers over his chest and nipped his neck,
smiling at the little moan of pleasure he made.
They quickly disposed of their clothes then
Katie pushed Andreus on to the bed.

“Hey! You’ve got a bit brave since the
last time we had sex.” He laughed.

“Any problems with that?” She
grinned.

“None. I like it.”

“I’ll remember that.” She laughed as
she straddled him. “We’re going to have to be
very adventurous now, certain positions could
hurt the baby.”

“I’m up for that.” She guided him
inside of her then started moving her hips
slowly and smiled as Andreus groaned. He
movements got faster as the passion built and
she felt the ripples of sweet pleasure rip
through her body. Andreus held her hips still
as he reached climax.

“God Kate, don’t you ever leave me
again.” He smiled he pulled her into the crook
of his arm. “I have no idea how I survived
these last eight weeks without you.”

“I’m not going anywhere. Andreus I’m
so sorry I didn’t find you and confront you at
the ball, I should never have ran like that.”

“Baby I understand why you did it, just
promise you wont do that again, we need to
talk things out when there is a problem.”

“I promise.” They laid in bed talking,
Andreus looked at his watch a couple of hours
later.

“We need to get showered babe, it’s
half past two. I need to be at the airport soon.”

“Half two? I’m going to be late picking
Rhiannon up!”

“I’ll drop you off at the school on the
way.” They showered quickly together,
dressed then left the house, he pulled up
outside Rhiannon’s school and turned to kiss
her. “I wish I could stay and see her, but I
haven’t got enough time.”

“I know, it’s fine. When will you be
back?”

“On Friday as usual. Hopefully I’ll be
here for good in two weeks.”

“Ok. I love you.”

“I love you too.” they quickly kissed
again before Katie got out of the car.

Later that evening just before
Rhiannon’s bed time the doorbell rang, Katie
got up to answer it, Melissa was standing

there looking uncertain. “Am I welcome?”
She asked.

“Haven’t you spoken to Andreus since
yesterday?”

“Yeah, but all he said was everything is
sorted, I didn’t know if that meant you’re
back together or if you had just sorted out
what would be best for the baby’s future.” She
rambled on. “I’m sorry Kate, I had to tell
him.”

“I know.” Katie smiled. “Come in.”

“So you’re not angry with me?”

“No Mel, the opposite. I’m thankful to
you. We are back together.”

“That’s great!” Melissa followed Katie
into the living room.

“Auntie Mel!” Rhiannon ran over and
hugged her.

“Hi sweetheart! Shouldn’t you be in
bed?”

“Yep, right about now.” Katie smiled.

“Oh mummy! I want to speak to Auntie
Mel!”

“If it’s ok with mummy, I’ll pick you
up from school tomorrow, we’ll go to the
cinema and we’ll get a Burger King dinner.”

“Mummy please!”

“Absolutely, but only if you go up to
bed right now.”

“Ok! Auntie Ellie can you tuck me in?”

“Sure.” Ellie smiled as she stood up.
Rhiannon kissed everyone goodnight before
going to bed.

“Katie, I need you to know I didn’t tell
Andreus to betray you, he had a right to
know.”

“It’s ok Mel, you done the right thing.
Everything is ok now, he explained why
Courtney lied and I believe him.”

“So are you moving to Greece?”

“No.”

“Why not?” Melissa looked confused.

“For two reasons. One it’d be way too
stressful for me to move to Greece at the
moment and also Sophia doesn’t like me.”

“Yes she does!”

“Mel I heard what she said!”

“She changed her mind on you two as a
couple when she saw the state Andreus was in
when you left. She saw he really is madly in
love with you and that you are good for him,
she told me that. Besides, she never HATED
you…”

“No she disapproved of me I’m a single
mother.”
“I know she said that then but she
doesn’t think that anymore. I promise you.”

“I need to hear that from her, even just
a phone call will do.”

“So, if she doesn’t apologise you will
never move to Greece?”

“I’m moving over when the baby is two
months old.”

“So, what’s going to happen with you
two until then? Is he going to come over for
the weekends again?”

“No, he’s gone to Greece today to talk
to Theo and Nikos about working from
London for six months.”

“That wont be a problem.”

“I hope not.”

When Andreus landed in Athens, he
called his father to tell him he was coming to
the mansion and Nikos to ask him to meet
him there. Sophia, Theo and Nikos were
sitting in the living room when Andreus
walked in smiling. “Wow! This is quite a
transformation!” Nikos grinned. “Good
news?”

“Excellent news, we’re back together.”

“Oh son, I’m so happy for you!” Theo
smiled.

“Thank you papa. I asked to see you all
together because I need to speak to you about
moving to London for six months.”

“Why cant she move to Greece?”

“She has her reasons, and she will

eventually.”

“This is because of me isn’t it?” Sophia
asked sadly. “Because of those horrible things
I said.”

“Partly.”

“Arrange a flight for me for tomorrow
Theo. I will go and apologise personally.”

“Mama, a phone call would be fine, and
I only want you to apologise if you truly mean
it.”

“Andreus I have never been so sorry
about anything in my life, and I want to tell
her that face to face. I’m going to go a pack a
few things then I’ll have an early night.
Congratulations my son.” She kissed both of
his cheeks.

“So, why six months? Surely if your
mother apologises she will come sooner.”

“Papa it’s not that easy, don’t forget
about Rhiannon and as I said mama isn’t the
only reason she can’t come over.”

“So what else is there?” Nikos asked.

“Haven’t you spoken to Mel in the last
few days?”

“Of course I have, but she hasn’t
mentioned anything that would stop Kate
moving over.”

“It would be too stressful in her
condition Nik.”

“What the hell are you talking about?!”

“Katie is five months pregnant. Didn’t
Mel tell you that?”

“No!” Nikos grinned. “Wait until I see
my wife!”

“Our son is due the second week in
July, so a move right now would be very
stressful for her.”

“Congratulations bro’”

“How long has Katie known?” Theo
asked.

“A month.”

“And she didn’t tell you?”

“Can you blame her after what she was
told at that awful ball? I hardly seemed like
husband or father material and knowing that
mama disapproved of her.”

“You’re right, sorry. Congratulations.
Don’t you think you had better warn your
mother?”

“No. Katie needs to know that she
genuinely is sorry and no longer feels that
way, and that she is not apologising because
Katie is carrying her grandson.”

“Ok, that’s understandable. So about
you moving to London for six months…”

“Is it possible? I need to be with her.”
Andreus looked at both his father and brother.

“Of course you do. Just please don’t
make it permanent, we need you at the

office.”

“It wont me permanent, I swear.”

“Then it’s fine. You’ll have to take all
of the files on the Milan project and there’s
also a Paris deal on the table so you’ll need to
draw up a design and a proposal for that.”

“Absolutely. No problem.”

“I’m glad things are finally working out
for you Andreus.”

“Thanks. Me too.”

Chapter 28

Katie was wrapping up some small
ornaments in bubble wrap whilst Ellie was
packing some heavier things when the
doorbell rang. Katie got up slowly and went
to the front door, she opened it to find Sophia
standing there. She nervously wiped her
hands down her black maternity trousers and
straightened her jumper. “Hello Sophia, what
brings you here?”

“Oh my goodness! You’re pregnant?!”

“Andreus didn’t tell you?”

“No! He said you were back together
but he didn’t tell me about the baby!”

“Does this ruin your plans to get rid of
me?”

“Pardon?” Sophia looked stunned.

“Well since I am not good enough for

your son, I figured you had come to try and
cause trouble.”

“No Katie, not at all. I have come to
apologise for the horrible things I said.”

“You had better come in.” Sophia
followed Katie into the living room. “Are you
just saying this because of the baby?”

“No Katie. I meant what I said when I
said it, I thought you were just like all his
other girlfriends, out for what you could get. I
didn’t think it was love for either of you. But
then you disappeared and I realised you
weren’t like the others if you were you would
have a thicker skin. I also saw how
heartbroken Andreus was, I watched my son
who is normally so full of life turn into a shell
and I realised I had made a huge mistake. I
am so sorry Katie, truly sorry for hurting you
both.”

“Thank you Sophia, but that doesn’t
change the fact that I am a single mother and I
wont be a virgin bride when I marry your
son.”

“I’ve realised those things aren’t
important and lets face it finding a virgin old
enough to marry would be pretty difficult this
day and age. Anyone who can make my son
as happy as you do is perfect to be his bride.
You are his perfect bride Katie.” Sophia took

her hand. “I am sorry I said those things. All I
can hope is that you will accept my heart felt
apology. I have never disliked you Katie, in
fact I like you and Rhiannon very much. I
would be proud to have you as my daughterin
-law and Rhiannon is my grand-daughter.
Will you accept my apology?”
