Cade
watched them go before he addressed Mace. “Have you lost your mind? Come on Mace, I like Jacob and all, but when Adrianna finds out that
Jacob is Eli Cord’s cousin, she is going to flip out. What were you thinking?”

“Listen,
I’m going to talk to her and tell her who he is, but Jacob has been through a lot
of abuse himself from his own family and he deserves a chance. Something tells me that Adrianna can
help him. I feel it in my heart. She can turn this kid around. He needs someone to love him and help
him with the abuse he has been through, and nobody understands that better than
Adrianna.”

“Okay
Mace, but you need to take care of this immediately. Don’t hide this from her or wait for a
better time. Do it now. Remember, no more secrets.”

“Okay,
Cade. I’ll take care of it
now.” Mace turned around and walked
up the stairs to find Adrianna.

Jamenson
McDonald had escorted the Supreme Alpha and Selena to their living quarters on
the second floor. Jamenson had
taken great pride in creating the perfect place for the Supreme Alpha and his
mate. He had taken a couple of the
rooms and made an office in one, a small living room in another, and then a
bedroom for them. He took pride in
the decorations he chose for each room.

“Everything
looks perfect, Jamenson,” Selena said softly.

“Thank
you, ma’am. I tried to think of
everything you would need to be comfortable here in your new home. If there is something you want changed
or moved, please call me and we will take care of it. The hotel is wireless so you won’t have
to plug your computer in to be online. Jacob helped with that, the kid is a whiz at computers. We want Ashland to be your home.” Jamenson turned to walk out the door and
leave the Supreme Alpha and Selena in their new bedroom, but then he turned
around and said, “Welcome home,” then smiled. Both Selena and Afton smiled and thanked
him.

Mace
walked into the suite that would house Adrianna and her mates until they could
find a home or build one big enough for them. Jacob was still smiling as he was
explaining in detail how the shower system and the phones worked. He was still whispering as he spoke to
Adrianna.

“Jacob,
thank you for showing Adrianna and her mates their room. Can you excuse us for a few
minutes? I need to speak with
Adrianna.”

“Oh, yes,
Alpha. I’m sorry I was taking so
long to explain everything. I will
be downstairs if you need anything,” Jacob whispered.

Adrianna
looked at Mace with shock, she could see that Jacob was no longer smiling and
thought he had done something wrong. “Jacob, thank you for showing us our room. I hope to meet with you later and take
the tour you offered me and my mates.”

Shyly
Jacob nodded, and then left as quite as a mouse, closing the door behind
him.

“Mace, did
you have to be so rude? I was just
making some head way with Jacob.”

“I know
Sis, but I need you to know something about Jacob before you get closer to
him.”

“Well…
what is it?”

“Well,
Jacob has been abused most of his life by his uncles and cousins, that’s why he
is here at the hotel. I needed to
keep him closer so I could protect him. He has been through enough; he is just a victim too. Adrianna, I want you to think about this
before you say anything.” Adrianna
sighed while waiting for Mace to tell her something about Jacob. “Jacob is a Cord. He’s Eli Cord’s cousin.”

Mace and
Cade braced themselves for the reaction they thought Adrianna would surely
give, but Adrianna smirked, then turned around, and walked to the window
looking out. “Bubba, you don’t give
me much credit. I knew Jacob was a
Cord. I can smell it on him. They all have a certain smell, but I can
see in his heart that Jacob is a good person. He just needs a chance like I did when I
went to live at the Oakland Resort with the Alpha and Selena. And I plan to give it to him. I will train him and when I’m done,
nobody will ever beat or pick on him again.”

Samson and
Cade both walked to Adrianna smiling because they knew Adrianna had the biggest
heart and she was so full of love that she couldn’t help herself. “Baby, you are awesome. You are the most loving and kind person
I have ever met,” Cade advised as he smiled, bent down, and kissed her
hand.

Adrianna
reached up and touched Cade and Samson’s faces, gently caressing their cheeks,
always having the need to touch one another.

“Thank
you, Sis. I knew you would take him
under your wing. I haven’t had the
time to spend with him like I should. He is very delicate, so go easy on him. He needs a lot of love. Nobody has ever said ‘I love you’ to
him. Nobody has ever given him
respect or the common decency just to be nice to the boy. I knew you would do this. Adrianna, I love you and I’m very proud
of you.”

Adrianna
smiled then walked to her brother and engulfed him into a hug.

Chapter Twelve

Adrianna
and her mates checked in with the Supreme Alpha to make sure he had enough
Protectors with him and to ensure he was taken care of before they left the
hotel.

“Adrianna,
how do you like your rooms?”

“They’re
beautiful and very roomy. We’re
supposed to meet with Jamenson downstairs. He is going to show us a house he built; he said that something last
year told him to build this house. It’s next to Seige Field, Selena. He says it’s beautiful and plenty big enough for us and the Protectors
and Guards too.”

Afton
smiled, then looked down, trying to say what he needed to say instead of what
he wanted to say. He wanted
Adrianna with him at the hotel not at another location.

“What is
wrong, sir?”

“Nothing,
sweetheart. I know you and your
mates want your own place, but I’m being very selfish because I want you with
me. Go see the house, then let us
know what your plans are.”

Adrianna
bowed her head out of respect to her Alpha and left with her mates.

Jamenson
rode with Adrianna and her mates to the house he built next to Seige
Field. When they pulled up to the
front of the house, it was breathtaking. Adrianna gasped when she saw it. Cade and Samson both smiled as they got out of the car to look up at the
house. It was a log cabin, but it
was something most would picture the rich and famous living in. The outside was something to see, there
were flowers everywhere on the wrap around porch and in front of the
house. The grass was so green and
the trees surrounding the house were so full. When Adrianna got out of the vehicle, it
felt as if the trees and flowers stopped swaying in the breeze and leaned
toward her.

Everybody
stopped talking and became aware of the silence, then looked at Adrianna. Her eyes were glowing bright green. It was as if she was in a trance and
communicating with the trees. Adrianna started walking toward the trees smiling. Cade and Samson walked beside her,
watching her reaction. Then the
unbelievable happened, a huge oak tree’s limb swayed toward her, lifting
Adrianna off the ground. The limb actually
picked her up off the ground and held her high up in the sky. Cade and Samson started yelling, running
toward the tree, but before they could reach the big oak tree, a large vine
wrapped around both of their legs, holding them still to the ground. Jamenson didn’t move from where he
stood. He didn’t want the vines or
the trees to do something to him. Plus,
he couldn’t move, the fear he was feeling was making it hard for him even to
breathe.

The tree’s
branch brought Adrianna softly back to the ground right in front of Cade and
Samson. She was laughing because
the vines had her mates bound as if they had real handcuffs on. Both of her mates didn’t think it was so
funny, as they gave her that look.

“Can you
please let my mates go?” The vines immediately
released Cade and Samson, drawing back toward the trees. “Thank you, my friends.”

Cade and
Samson went to Adrianna asking if she was hurt.

“No, but
did you just see that. Did you hear
them talking to me?”

“Adrianna
we couldn’t hear anything. Next
thing we knew you were being lifted up into the sky by a tree. How is that possible?” Cade asked.

“All I
heard when I got out of the vehicle were the trees, the vines, and the flowers
all talking to me. They were
welcoming me home. They were so
excited to see me. I can’t believe
you couldn’t hear them. They were
so loud, all talking at once. They
told me they would always protect me.”

Jamenson was staring at Adrianna. He couldn’t say anything. Adrianna ran to Jamenson worried.

“Are you
okay, Jamie? Don’t be scared, they
won’t hurt you.”

Jamie just
looked up at Adrianna and softly asked, “What are you?”

Cade
placed his arm on Jamenson’s shoulder. “Adrianna is the
Trinity
,
Jamie. She has powers that nobody
else has and apparently she can talk to the trees.”

“Jamie,
are you okay? Please say
something. Are you afraid of me
now?”

“No…no
Adrianna, it’s just unbelievable. I
couldn’t believe my eyes. You
really are the
Trinity
.”

“Well
that’s what they say Jamie, but I’m still your cousin. So please don’t treat me any
different. So much has happened to
me this week. I don’t think I could
take it if you treated me differently.” Adrianna looked at Jamenson hoping he wouldn’t look at her in a
different light—hoping he wouldn’t be afraid of her because of her
abilities.

Adrianna
waited for Jamenson to say something. When he didn’t, she dropped her hands from him and started walking to
the house. Her mates and Jamenson
could immediately smell the sorrow she was feeling.

“Hey, Adrianna,”
Jamenson said as he walked toward her. “I’m sorry. It just took me
by surprise, that’s all. Listen
little lady, you may be the
Trinity
,
but you will always be family. I
won’t let you get too big for your britches when people start putting you up on
that pedestal. I’ll be the one who
will come up to you and give you a big twirl around,” Jamenson said as he
picked up Adrianna and twirled her around and around.

Adrianna
started laughing and hugged Jamenson. “Thanks, Jamie.”

“No
problem, kiddo. Now let’s go look
at your new home.” Jamenson looked
back at the trees. He couldn’t
believe what just happened.

Samson
couldn’t believe how the inside looked. The first room from the entrance was into a room that held closets on
both sides. Then when you walked
further into the house you came into the living room, it was huge with a big,
stone fireplace that took up most of the wall. The walls were kept natural using logs
going up to the ceiling that was also done in the natural wood; the log beams
on the ceiling were magnificent.

Samson
looked at Jamenson and smiled. “Jamenson, you are an unbelievable artist. This house is beautiful. It’s like you took nature from the
outside and brought it inside.”

“Oh Jamie,
I’ve never felt like I was home until now.” Adrianna started to cry. She couldn’t control the sob that came
from her. The house was home to her
and she felt the connection. Cade
and Samson went to Adrianna, hugging her and kissing her on top of her
head. They felt it too.

“Yes,
sweetheart, we are home,” Samson whispered.

Cade was
conflicted. He knew his future was
in Ashland with his mate, but he was Alpha of the Viston Pack. He knew he needed to meet with his
people to inform them of the news, along with how he would be living in
Ashland, but he was still their Alpha and he would assign people that would
handle the everyday business. He
hoped everybody would understand he couldn’t always be in Viston.

Adrianna
looked up, saw the concern on Cade’s face, and immediately went to his
side. “What is it, Cade? Do you not love the house?”

“Yes, yes,
I love the house. I’m worried about
the Viston Pack. They don’t know
yet that I will be living in Ashland and have found my mate. Well, actually they know that I have
found my mate, since I sent Declan home to instruct the Elders. Since I will be living here, I hope they
will understand and be happy with the decisions I have made.”

Samson
came to Cade’s side. “Cade, we will
help you as I hope you will help me when I move my Clan here. I hope they will understand the
decisions I have made for them too. Some may not want to move. I
will need to leave my Second in charge for the ones who decide to stay. Together we’ll get through this.”
