“Oh, trust me.  Miss Burkes is
very inventive.  Ask your cousin.  They seem to have become very well
acquainted!”

Jenna lifted her eyes to Callum’s and glowered
at him.  The look in his dared her to say something.  He should have
known she would not retreat easily.  She looked at Shelly and said through
gritted teeth.

“Maybe you should have a chat with
your fiancé, Miss Watts.  He seems to be overly interested in my
affairs!  While you do so, please be so kind as to inform him that what I
do, has absolute blue sweet all nothing to do with him!”

She pushed her chair back and stood
up.

“I need to go to the ladies.
Please excuse me.”

Lee jumped up and followed
Jenna.  She stewed all the way to the ladies room.  Lee stood
watching Jenna angrily throwing her purse on the counter top.  She cursed
from a to z.

“Jen?  What is going on?”

“Nothing!  Apart from Callum
McGregor that is the biggest asshole on this continent!  I am sorry,
Lee.  I am not staying any longer.  Please wait at least five minutes
before you go back.  I need to get away from here.  If I have to face
that man once more tonight I am going to commit murder!”

“Okay, but will you phone me?
Maybe we could do something for your birthday on Saturday?”

Jenna stilled and looked at her with
surprise.  She has totally forgotten that it was her birthday.  The
big one! Thirty!  And her family is not even here to celebrate it with
her!  She nodded, forcing the tears back.  She picked up her purse
and walked away with anger in every step.

She could not see the table, therefore
was relatively sure she would be able to leave unnoticed.  She only
released her breath when she was on the freeway, safely on her way home. This
time when the phone rang ‘We will rock you’, she answered.

“What do you want?”

“Where the hell are you, Jenna?”

“Why don’t you tell me,
McGregor?  You seemed to have been able to find me easily enough earlier!”

“And I will find you every time you
run away from me, Baby.  Remember that!  One more thing you seemed to
have forgotten, little painter … you are mine.  It seems you need a
reminder again!”

“Go to hell, Callum McGregor!”

Jenna ended the call and threw the
phone on the seat next to her.  She went to her room the moment she
arrived.  She slammed the door shut and shrieked when her searching
fingers could not find the key that was still in the keyhole when she left
earlier.

Her stomach clamped in a knot.
She snorted There are probably another six bedrooms on this floor that were
unoccupied.  She would just sleep in one of them.  Her scream
reverberated through the house when not one of those doors had keys in
them.  Nor did any of the rooms on the top floor.  It seemed he knew
her too well. She sighed and walked back to her room.  If he thought for
one moment she would spread her thighs for him with his fiancé in the house …
or even at all now that she knew he had one, he was in for a surprise!

Not having slept much the night before
Jenna fell asleep easily and did not hear Callum’s powerful sports car drive up
a few hours later. He was quite annoyed with Shelly, whom was adamant they
finish dinner first.  At least he has calmed down somewhat. He breathed
easier when he pulled his car into the garage to find Jenna’s there.  He
had been worried all evening that she would not go home at all.

He pulled boxer shorts on and walked
directly to Jenna’s room.  He closed the door and pushed the key in the
slot and turned it.  She was fast asleep and once again naked.  He
pulled the sheet off her, his body throbbed with need.  Since she walked
out with that tiny bikini he has been in painful state of arousal.  He did
not understand why he needed this woman so much.  Why it was only her that
had this immediate and constant effect on him.

Jenna was lying on her back. He knew
she would deny him, just as he knew he had to have her.  He would not
survive another night without her in his arms, surrounding him with her heat.
He kneeled on the bed and pulled her legs apart.  Her eyelids fluttered
and he quickly settled between her legs.  He stroked a finger down her
cleft and back up, spearing inside.  Amazingly, she was ready for
him.  He leaned into her and his shaft unerringly found her heated opening
and he pushed inside just as Jenna woke up.  She shrieked and started to
struggle.  Callum pushed all the way in and groaned with pleasure.

“Get off me!  McGregor!  You
can’t do this to me!  I don’t want you inside me!  Get out!”

“No, Jenna. I need to be here!”

She increased her struggles.
Callum lowered his whole body on top of hers and pressed his face in her
neck.  He kept still, waiting for Jenna to stop struggling.
Eventually, panting with exertion, she did.

Callum lifted his head and looked into
her eyes.  She noticed that the bedside lamp has once again been switched
on.  Her anger hit him full blast.

“Let. Me. Go!”

“Jenna, Baby … even if I wanted to …
nothing would get me to leave you now.  I need you too much.”

“Really?  Or is this the
expunction of another man’s memory?”

His jaw tightened and his gaze turned
into orbs of green lava.  His voice was harsh and exploded in her ear.

“Did you take him inside you?
DID YOU!”

“NO!  Unlike you, I don’t sleep
around and I’m never involved with more than one man at a time!”

“Nor do I, Jenna.”

His entire body relaxed on her and he
kissed her then.  Not hard and forceful as she expected, but soft, tender
and sensual.  That was her undoing.  That and his desperate plea in
her ear.

“I need you, Baby.  This is where
I belong, Jenna.  Here, deep inside you!  I can’t leave you now …
please don’t ask me to. Please … please my little painter!”

She called herself all kinds of fool,
but he felt so good inside her.  Her body pulsed and throbbed around his
hard length so deep inside her.  She knew she would not be able to let him
go.  No matter how wrong this was, how much it hurt her to know he
belonged to someone else, she needed him.  Maybe even more than he did
her.

She wrapped her legs around his hips
and caressed the muscled cords down the length of his back.  She arched
her back, and sighed when he pulled back and then plunged back in to set a
furious uncontrolled pace that hurled them into oblivion within minutes.

Callum breathed harshly and the moment
he got his breath back, he started thrusting again.  He did not stop for
another hour, spilling himself inside her over and over again, with only
minutes of rest in between.   He wrung himself dry, but could not
stop, no he did not want to stop.

Jenna battled to get her breath back.
She had no idea how Callum managed what he did, but she was too weak to move
when he slumped on her.  She allowed her legs to fall from him and he
looked into her eyes.  He sighed when he noticed they were
shuttered.  She pressed her hands against his chest.  Her voice husky
and soft.

“No more, Callum.  I am
done.  Had I known you were engaged, I would never have allowed any
intimacy between us. Now that I do and for as long as you are an engaged man,
there will be nothing more.”

He withdrew from her and got up from
the bed. He stood looking down at her.  He smiled.

“You think it is all that easy,
Baby?  There is one thing you are not considering in this equation of
yours.”

“And what is that?”

“That you, my love, want and need me just
as much as I do you.  You might be able to resist me for a week or two …
but then your need will be just as desperate as mine.”

“No.  It is over, Callum!”

“No, Jenna.  You are fooling
yourself if you believe that.  See you tomorrow evening. I’m leaving early
for the office.”

He walked to the door, unlocked it and
took the key out once again, chuckling at her angry gasp.

“Sleep
well, Baby.”

By
Thursday, Jenna was ready to murder Callum.  He openly taunted her.
Even when Shelly was present, he taunted her with his open need and desire for
her.  His eyes burnt over her body, he swept a hand over her throat, down
her back and even over her breasts when Shelly was not looking.  Laughing
at her angry shrieks.  Unconcerned when Shelly looked at them questioningly.
He just shrugged it off and she shook her head at him.  Jenna felt like
shaking her.

If she, like a proper fiancé would,
opened her mouth and fought with him over his open attention to another woman,
he would desist.  Even better … if she took him into her bed, he would
leave her alone … no scrap that!  That would totally destroy her.  At
least the fact that they were not intimate was some consolation in this totally
bizarre situation.

It was early afternoon and Jenna was
relieved when the McGill family arrived.   Megan looked at Jenna
searchingly and was relieved when she appeared relaxed, albeit annoyed.
Megan was confused.  She became even more confused when she watched Callum
openly taunt and flirt with Jenna.  Shelly ignored him and showed no concern.

Jenna was becoming highly irritated.
On their way to the side terrace where they were going to have an early dinner,
Callum fell back leaving Shelly to continue on, with the sole purpose of
fondling her ass.  She shrieked and socked him with a fist in his
stomach.  He groaned and stooped over in pretend agony.  She snapped
at him and Megan chuckled.

“Get over it, McGregor.  You can
be thankful I missed!”

“Damn woman!  You did not
miss!  My insides are burning up.”

“I missed!  I was aiming lower!”

She stomped away, shrieking a long low
cry when he whispered loudly.

“Not the crown jewels, Baby!
It’s the future McGregor lineage you’re threatening!”

She stopped and spun around, glaring
at him with her hands on her hips.  Megan also stopped and shook her head.

“Why are you in such a good mood,
McGregor?  What is going on in that demented head of yours?”

He spread his arms wide and the twins
immediately wrapped their hands around them and hung on like monkeys.

“You should know by now that I am
always in a good mood when my family comes to visit.”

“Yes!  Mom said we can visit for
the whole long weekend.  You did not forget it is a holiday tomorrow and
Monday, did you Uncle Call?  Can we stay here until Monday?”

“I would have it no other way.”

He walked around the two women with
the two little monkeys swinging on his arms, winking at Jenna.

“I am going to kill that man!
And Shelly!  What type of engagement do they have?  If he was mine I
would have clobbered him over the head long ago.  What does she do?
She smiles and shakes her head at him!”

“Their … relationship does take some
time getting used to it.”

“What relationship?  Apart from
that damn rock on her finger, they could just as well be brother and sister!”

Chapter
Thirteen

They
just started eating when a white Mercedes pulled up in the driveway.
Jenna looked up when the door slammed and she gasped.  She jumped up and
tore over the lawn, screaming Kevin’s name.  He caught her in the air and
twirled her in a circle.  He hugged her close and she nearly strangled him
with her grip around his neck.

“Jen, honey, what’s the matter?”

“I missed you!  Oh Lord I missed
you so much …!”

He hugged her tighter and soothed her
tears away.

“There now, honey. That’s enough of
that.  It’s only been six months.”

“Six months too long!  What are
you doing here?”

“I am busy opening a practice here, so
I decided to extend my trip and be here for my little sister’s big birthday.”

“Kev!  You remembered!”

He pushed her away and frowned at her.

“Of course I remembered.  How
could you even think I would forget?”

“You are the best brother ever!”

He laughed and took her face between
his hands and looked smilingly into her eyes.

“My darling Jenna, I love you to
bits.  You are my one and only …”

“Who the hell is this, Jenna?”

She stiffened and Kevin’s eyebrows
rose.  Jenna took after their mother and him after their Dad.  Where
she was petite and dark haired, he was blond, tall and muscled.  A good
match for the man who glared at him when he turned around.

Just to make sure he read the
situation correctly, he pulled Jenna back against his side with his arm around
her back.  He watched the man in front of him stiffen and his green eyes
shot poisoned arrows at him.  He smiled and looked down at Jenna.

“Well, love … aren’t you going to
introduce us?”

Whether Jenna realized it or not,
Kevin was aware that the man glaring at him overheard what he had said to her
and the jealousy in his eyes was testimony to his feelings for his
sister.  He knew his sister well enough to know all was not well, but one
look at her and he knew she was in love with him.
