Preface

Acute Care Handbook for Physical Therapists was originally developed to provide clinicians with a handy reference for patient care in the hospital serring. It was created primarily for physical therapy students and clinicians unfamiliar with acute carc. Because of the positive comments and feedback to the first edition, this second edition was

written to serve the same purpose with updated information, including

the following:

• A revision of all chapters and appendices with expanded information on new technologies, medical-surgical innovations, clinical tips, and guidelines to physical therapy management
