“You’re up fuck face.” Covering his mouth he looks at Jersey and smiles.

“Yeah, watch your mouth.” I joke with him a little. He’s been trying to cut back on the curse words around her.

“You got this Gavin. She’s going to love it.” Just as he speaks Laney walks around the corner wearing a long silk gown.

My heart drops into my stomach as I take in her beauty. Jesus, she looks exquisite.

“What are you looking at like that?” Her hands on her hips just like the little spitfire she is makes me smile.

“You are stunning. God, Laney.” Pulling her into me, I kiss her cheek, inhaling her scent.

“You look amazing in that suit. I never thought I would see this.” Flipping the flap on my jacket she smiles.

“You ready for this?”  Laney blows out a breath as she shakes her arms out.

“I’m ready.” Jessie escorts her out to her spot at the piano where she sits as the crowd hushes. I can see the nerves working on her right before she turns to look at me. I mouth the words I love you to her before she nods and turns to face the piano.

Her hands come up and then fall onto the key as her eyes close. The melodic music flows through the building just like I planned on. She is amazing to say the least and the crowd agrees by the look on her face.

When the part comes, I grab the mic and step out onto the stage and sing along with her music. Laney didn’t know this but I wrote lyrics to her music just for her.

“If ever I fall, will you be there to catch me or will I just fall hard.  If ever I fall, is there a time you will be waiting or is there no time at all. We may be different but our hearts say it all so will you be there if ever I fall.  The world keeps spinning us in ways we never saw but at the end of the day I need you to be there if ever I fall.” As I sing I watch the tears fall from Laney’s eyes.

This is perfect and I know she loves it, I can see it flowing out her.

I stop singing and motion for the crowd to be quiet as I pull the small box out of my jacket. I drop to my knee behind her as I listen to the end of her piece.

As soon as she’s finished, I speak.

“So will you be there because I already fell.” Laney spins around to face me when her hands fly to her mouth.

“If ever I fall came true for me. I fell for you Laney and I fell hard. Will you catch me for the rest of our lives?” Her hands fall to my face as she cups my cheeks.

“I will always catch you Gavin.”
