He must be strong and physically fit in order to support her weight and sustain the position—even for a short period of time. This may not work if he has limited strength or she is much heavier than he. He can’t do any hard or deep thrusting unless he puts her on or against something very sturdy. His hands are busy holding her up, so he can’t use them to stroke other parts of her body. Since her hands are wrapped around his neck, she cannot touch him in other places or touch herself, so clitoral stimulation isn’t possible.
As in Superman, Batman starts with him sitting on the edge of the bed. She sits in his lap, but this time faces away from him. Then he stands up. She can put her legs behind her and wrap them around his torso, or she can leave them down and he can hold the backs of her thighs. Because this is a rear-entry position, he has easier access to her anus than he does in Superman position. This is even more difficult than Superman, though, because she can’t comfortably help support herself with her arms around him. She can, however, put her arms behind her and hold on to him. Some people like this position because he can show off his strength and he is firmly in control of the penetration.
To get into this position, she begins by lying on her back and he kneels between her legs. She raises her legs up and he pulls her ankles toward his shoulders. Then, she lifts her pelvis up and off the bed so that she’s supporting her weight on her upper back and shoulders.
The Inverted Spider allows partners to face each other for optimal communication and eye contact. He has a perfect view of her entire body as well as the thrusting action. Both partners have easy access to her vulva for vaginal and clitoral stimulation during the anal penetration. Her body is at a good angle to achieve indirect G-spot stimulation. All the blood rushes to her head in this position, which may intensify sensations and orgasms for some women.
Because she needs to hold herself in this position, she can’t do much thrusting, so Inverted Spider may feel too passive for some women. Women with lower-back problems, limited flexibility, or who are heavy may find this position impractical.
In this version of the position, he stands next to the bed or couch and approaches her this way. Standing can give him greater thrusting power and more control of the rhythm. She will have to angle her body up more to accommodate the change in height.
He lies on his back with his legs spread slightly. (Use pillows to make sure you’re in a comfortable position.) She climbs on top of him and begins in Cowgirl position. Very slowly, she leans backward, letting her legs fall open, until she’s lying on her back away from him. Again, use pillows to prop yourself up and make this more comfortable.
This is a slow, sensual position with shallow penetration; the concentration of the friction on the head of his penis can feel really good for him. Both partners have easy access to her clitoris and vagina, and there is plenty of room for a vibrator to slip in there. If you prefer less body contact, this position affords you the opportunity to feel connected without any weight on top of you.
For some partners, there is simply not enough skin-on-skin contact in this position, so they may feel too disconnected from each other. Some men may find that they have trouble maintaining an erection because of the unique angle and/or the lack of deep penetration or quick thrusting. You should always proceed with caution in this position and never do it if it hurts at all. Double X is impossible for some men whose penises just won’t bend that way!
In Triple X, he begins in the same position, but she begins in Reverse Cowgirl. Slowly, she leans forward toward his feet, until she is almost lying down between his legs. She can keep her knees bent or let her legs lie straight behind her. This version gives him a great view of her ass and may actually be easier to achieve than the Double X.
She lies on her back with her butt scooted down to the edge of the bed, and he stands at the edge of the bed. She bends her knees and rests her feet on his abdomen.
This has many of the pluses of Missionary position—it’s good for eye contact, communication, and kissing—along with some others of its own. For women who find Missionary on a bed—when their legs must rest on their shoulders—too uncomfortable to maintain, this makes a great alternative that requires a little less flexibility. Plus, women can take a more active role in the penetration, using their feet for leverage to push off their partner’s body. He has lots of thrusting power since he is standing, and both partners have a great view of each other’s bodies.
Although it is different, Flying Missionary can still feel too pretzel-like for some women. Other women may feel as if their partner’s body is too far away from theirs. For women who like their breasts and nipples played with during lovemaking—and men who like to watch their partner’s breasts—this position blocks the view and access.
