“It sounds familiar.”

“Its population numbers about 7 billion. That’s three times the size of any known planet we’re aware of.”

“So why aren’t they fighting the Draconan Empire?”

“Two reasons. One, they’re not technologically advanced yet
to defend themselves. Second, they’re at the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy, one the farthest galaxies on our star charts. The Draconan’s haven’t traveled that far out there yet. But time is growing short for I fear if we don’t act soon it may too late.”

“How do you know they haven’t reach Earth yet?”

“Trust me. We’re advanced enough to know where they are and how far their empire has expanded.”

“So why not travel to Earth and share your technology with them?”

“We feel they’re not ready for that yet. There are several things holding them back from accepting anything other than what they believe.”

“Such as?”

“Take your pick; different religious beliefs, separate nations at war along with a monetary system that has proven in our history to be disastrous.”

“So they’re primitive compared to us.”

“Unfortunately they are very primitive. I just wish there was a way to convince the council that their planet is worth saving and helping.”

“Perhaps I can help.”

“How?”

“My planet sounds very similar to theirs in many ways except for our ability to advance technologically quicker than them. I can offer possible solutions knowing what it might take to help Earth become a unified race.”

“Would you be willing to meet with the Andromeda Council on my behalf?”

“I would be honored.”

“Good. We also need an edge to beat these reptile bastards,” Wolf said.

“Your people have yet to come up with something?”

“I wish I could say otherwise.”

“I have an idea,” said Peter.

“Let's hear it.”

“I told you I’m a scientist. I've been working on and experimenting with nanotechnology for the past few years and I believe I’ve come close to perfecting it. If we can design a suit made of nanotechnology that gives us the strength and ability to be able to face the Draconans head with less risk we might have a chance of defeating them.”

The Draconans hierarchy of leadership motivated them to continue to improve their weapons and arsenal. Lyran and Andromeda scientists might be smart but were not motivated by war as well as controlling other races.

However
, Peter did have a point. No matter how you looked at it the Draconans wouldn't slow down or show mercy to anyone. They had to be stopped before more planets suffered.

“Let's do it,” said Jonathan getting up from the table after finishing their drinks.

“I regret I did not bring any of my work with me from Roodare. The circumstances did not allow it. I’ll have to start from scratch again.”

“That won’t be a problem. Give me a few days and we’ll leave for Mirach together to meet with the council.”

Chapter 7

The three moons and two suns were the only visible large natural objects that surrounded Mirach. The surface was not unlike Earth’s, which Peter had been studying for quite some time on Vega. The entire planet was like one huge city with some buildings towering as high as the clouds. Some looked natural while others looked out of place.

Wolf found
his friend, Peter, a place to live where he could feel at peace for awhile before the war reached the Andromeda galaxy. It was decided that he stay with Jonathan until his work on nanotechnology was complete.

Luckily, many species in the Andromeda and nearby galaxies had the technological advancements to keep the Draconan’s from reaching this galaxy for now.

After introducing Peter to the council, he was given permission to continue the work he started on Roodare. It took several months and endless days and nights with the right equipment before he began to show true progress.

One day after Jonathan had come home, Peter had finally finished working on the
prototype suit even though minor adjustments would have to be made along the way. Once Jonathan put on the suit, the final coding would begin.

“Well, what do you think?” Peter said placing two silver gloves with pointy fingers on the living room table in their home.

“They're gloves,” Wolf said pointing out the obvious.

“No kidding,” he said sarcastically.

“I thought you were going to make a suit,” Wolf said as he observed it carefully.

“This is the suit.”

“This is the suit?” he asked quizzically. “You must be joking.”

“What I mean is once you put the gloves on, the nanites will begin to replicate themselves and form a full body suit around you. Here put them on and see for yourself,” he said picking up the gloves and placing them on his friends hands.

Almost immediately the metal from the gloves started to spread across his arms and soon around his entire body. It felt weird at first before his head was the last thing to be covered up. When the nanites were finished, Jonathan saw a heads up display that analyzed every object in the room, including Peter.

“Impressive,” said Wolf
looking briefly at his hands.

“Thanks,” Peter replied.

“What all can it do?” he asked.

“I gave you the ability to see in three spectrums of light; night vision, infrared and no
rmal vision, which is what you should be seeing now.”

“What about armor?”

“When you get hit with a projectile weapon or a laser blaster, the nanites bond closer together to give the suit the thickness it needs to protect you. Plus, I've given the suit the ability to cloak you.”

“Nice. What about weapons?”

“The suit’s main weapon is a pair of throwing discs that are sharp enough to cut through steel. Your wrist can release sharp projectiles at your enemies as well.”

“No laser weapons?”

“I'm still working on that,” Peter sighed. “Remember, this is a prototype.”

“Anything else?”

“Oh, and you can fly.”

“I can fly? Wow. You’re just full of surprises.”

“Each nanite has a micro anti gravity propulsion system that gives you that ability. That part wasn't easy to integrate. You think it, the suit does it.”

“Great work
, Peter,” he said.

“There’s one more thing you need to know. I haven’t perfected it yet so it’s still needs to be beta tested but the suit will soon give you the ability to open an artificial wormhole like our ships can. I just wouldn’t recommend using that feature yet.”

“Understood. Now we need to present this to the council,” Wolf said as he mentally deactivated the suit back into the form of the gloves before placing them back on the table.

“I've been thinking about that. Perhaps we should keep this a secret for now.”

“What? Why? A lot of benevolent races could use this to help them fight the Draconans.”

“I agree but we need to be careful in case this suit falls into the wrong hands. What if someone who'
s not strong enough to fight while wearing the suit is captured by the Draconan Empire?”

“They could discover the suit's weaknesses,” Wolf realized.

“Or someone working as a spy for them will want this as well. You, Jonathan, are the right person to wear the suit. You're a soldier. You're strong willed and I know you won't give in to the enemy easily. I’ll work on something to prevent its replication in enemy hands.”

“I see your point. What do we tell the council members who don’t know yet?”

“Nothing for now until the suit has been tested in the field. We can tell the Oracle and ask her to keep it to herself for the time being,” Peter smiled.

“Agreed. I would like to tell Summeris and Gwork as well. They are my friends and I trust them to keep this a secret. We also need to come up with a name for this weapon,” said Wolf, deciding to call it a weapon rather than merely a simple suit in this context.

“I already thought of one,” Peter said.

“Yeah? What’s that?” Jonathan asked.

“Silverwolf,” Peter said.

“Naming it after me?
” he realized. “I appreciate that.”

“This council is now in session to discuss the escalating war with the Draconan Empire that is now approaching our galaxy and the issue concerning Earth,” the Oracle said standing in the center of the huge domed shaped room along with seven other interplanetary species. She was wearing her traditional long white robe with her long dark hair hanging down behind her.

Wolf was seated in his booth along with his two friends, whom he met several years ago; Summeris and Gwork.
Peter was still in his lab at home working on some final adjustments to the Silverwolf suit after speaking personally with the Oracle.

Summeris was a light blue-skinned humanoid female. She was a humble and wise person. Her soft spoken voice made it very easy to communicate with her.

Gwork was a four foot tall being from the Zeta Reticuli Star System. He had smooth grey skin and a large head with large almond shaped black eyes. His intellect was extraordinary. What his kind had created astounded many of the different species in this galaxy. Jonathan could always count on him when he needed him the most.

“Is the suit secured?” Summeris asked looking over at Wolf. She and Gwork were the only other two people besides the Oracle who knew about the suit.

“Peter has it in a safe place that only the two of us know of,” he answered.

“You have done an excellent job in taking your fathers place on this council,” Gwork said, placing a hand on Wolf’s shoulder.

“Thank you my friend,” he kindly told him with a smile then listened to the Oracle make her speech to the council members.

“For many years we have been trying to help the humans of Earth grow as a species in hopes that they would evolve more quickly - both spiritually and technologically so that they might defend themselves from the Draconans and so that we may fight along side them as well. Alas, because of their religious and political differences, they have not and the continuing war with the Draconan Empire is nearing our galaxy. We must prepare to defend our own galaxy before we can assist others. It gives me no pleasure to say this but I’m afraid we cannot concern ourselves with Earth until our crisis is over. We must use what resources we have at our disposal to ensure the survival of our galaxy,” the Oracle said.

After hearing the disappointing news Wolf stood up and said, “Oracle, if I may intervene.”

“Jonathan Wolf from the planet of Vega has been recognized,” she said looking over at him.

“Thank you. Members of Council, I implore you to listen to what I have to say. As you know many of us here have been visiting Earth and contacting certain people in secret in hopes that they would awaken their race to the truth about themselves and the universe as a whole. If we fail to stop the Draconan Empire here in this galaxy and they head to Earth to wipe out the humans there, there won’t be any humans left to survive. We know the Draconans feed off human flesh and the human spirit. Yet the people of Earth have the potential to evolve and fend for themselves against a race as dangerous as the Draconans.

“So I ask those of you who have been assisting with Earth’s evolution not to stop. The consequences could be far more dangerous if you do. Thank you,” he finished then took his seat.

“Thank you Jonathan. Members of the council, I now ask you to vote on this matter,” she said.

Everyone bowed their heads and telepathically decided on the best course of action for Andromeda.

“It has been decided. It appears there are a few in this room who still agree with you Jonathan but it is not enough, for the majority has decided to focus our efforts on the war here in this system. I am sorry, my friend. I understand your reasoning but the decision has been made. This council meeting is now adjourned,” the Oracle said.

Wolf was disappointed but not surprised. The Draconans were a very advanced race and very hard to defeat. Other systems have fallen to the Draconans in centuries past. Where they came from exactly no one knows except that they were a reptilian species that were twice the size of humans and other species.

As Wolf and his friends made their way out of the council hall, the Oracle stopped them before leaving.

“May I have a word, Jonathan?” she asked politely.

“Of course,” he answered.

“Even though the council has decided, I am granting you permission to go and observe the people on Earth as they try to evolve, if you so desire. But you are to leave the suit here with your friend Peter. You are not to get emotionally involved with anyone. You are to report back to me what you discover. Because you are still young, I do not want you to assist them in their evolutionary process yet until I say otherwise.

“There are two people on Earth, I have been told by a few Andromeda members, who are accepting humans from other planets and providing them sanctuary on Earth so that they may continue on with their mission; Sam Caldwell and Justin Gait. I have been assured that they are trustworthy and they can help you,” the Oracle smiled.
