So, that’s pretty much it. Ev
erything worked out although not quite perfectly. But that’s life, right? You have to take the good with the bad and hope for the best. I could sit here and talk to you forever about this stuff, but I have a wedding to get to and Jolon hates to wait. Oh, that’s right. I left that part out. Lou proposed on Christmas day and of course Ruthann said yes. He didn’t even have the ring all the way on her finger when she called to tell me the good news. We screamed together and cried together, both equally excited. It seems like that was only yesterday, and now today’s the big day. It does my heart good to see that Ruthann and Lou made it all the way.
At the end of the day, all of the drama and all of the complexity was well worth it. I found happiness –
real
happiness. The Romeo to my Juliet. Not everyone can say that, and believe me, I don’t take what we have for granted. While Jolon and I are really just getting started and there’s definitely no talk of a wedding yet, I have a feeling that one day in the future it’ll be
us
meeting at the altar. You never know…….
